Depends entirely on the product used. But even with a premium product, 3-4 years is nearing the end of the coatings lifespan. I don't care how long the product says it lasts. Ceramic Pro Ion, which is one of the premium coats, claims 7 years (I think). I would say real world realistically more like 5 years unless you are getting some coating maintenance done. You can always get a normal detail with with polish/wax on top of ceramic coatings to lengthen the life of the ceramic. Which is recommended.

Also depends on if you take it in yearly to maintain it. Mine is ceramic coated and I take it in yearly for a clean/booster. Also depends on how many layers of ceramic are applied. On previous cars it held up well for 3-4 years but if you don't do the yearly booster it will start failing early or if you have a lesser package. I use to get ceramic pro but have recently changed to feynlab which I like better. Seems to hold up better per my detailer and works better. Currently have their 10 year on it and do the yearly booster so we will see how that goes.

My IGL Kenzo is great. On 2/3 cars and very protective nothing sticks. I have had it topped / booster with Premier after 1 year then every 6 months to retain hydroponics. I did the topping myself. Like a quick detailer but your car must be 100% clean for it to work. Without boosting it’s still protected jist not hydrophobic like crazy.

Same guy did the “sport” version of the Ceramic Pro product on my X7. Way cheaper. WAY cheaper. Didn’t do full paint correction, only on the hood because it was the only place with visible scratches to the clear coat. He said it will last about 9 months because he knows I keep my cars well washed and maintained, kept in a garage. Not a bad expected result for about $300. So it seems to just depend on what you get and how you care for it.

I use Armor Shield IX and it lasts about 2 years. DIY stuff. Easy application. Lots of sales throughout the year.

Gyeon just came out with a new ceramic they claim 15+ years. Believe it’s called Gyeon Infinite.
