M550i can now be ordered in US market

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
The MY2018 M550 is now in BMWNA's ordering system for the US market, and I ordered one for 04/14/17 production.

I have no idea how much it costs beyond the already-released base MSRP; all the option and package prices are listed as "Blocked". The dealer expects full option sheets, pricing, and lease money factor/residuals to be out within the next couple of weeks.

There are no Priority 1 options, additional wheel choices, etc., available, and it's unclear what will be available since it is already a M Performance vehicle. If you are ordering a M550, the packages/options can be modified until the vehicle enters production.

Thanks for the update, I just talked to a local dealership and they had no info. But was like you want to buy it, I was like Nope.. Not until I can drive one or get full pricing.

As my F80 M3 isn't bad lol

Let me us know what you find out.

For reference, the attached is what I ordered.

Not present:
  • Luxury Seating Package
  • Dynamic Handling Package
  • Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System
  • Rear-seat entertainment Professional
  • Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection
I don't really need the rear-seat entertainment or night vision, and I have never had a BMW with any of the first three options (so I am not "missing" them) — but I am open to feedback on these.

Any idea if the 530e too is available for order or if the packages are out (even if blocked pricing at this point)?

Heads-up is a must and you live in WI and haven't gotten the cold weather package...what is wrong with you
And I'd get Nappa Leather, comfort access

From my understanding, OP is saying that these option are currently unavailable:
"Luxury Seating Package
Dynamic Handling Package
Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System
Rear-seat entertainment Professional
Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection"

But I agree, I wouldn't spend that much money and go with Dakota leather

Fwiw prior to ordering my F80 I test drove a F10 550 with DHP and without. Afterwards I was fairly convinced DHP was a must have option and made the car feel a bit more like an E60 granted it was still a boat. I'd also spec Nappa over Dakota if available in a color you want ymmv. Congrats by the way I almost forced myself to hold out for the G30 550 but one drive in the F80 was all it took.

F10 LCI 550i xDrive with DHP is 110% worth it and we made sure to order the car with Nappa and 4-Zone Climate Control (which again seems omitted from the USA builds dammit).

I heard that too about DHP. I tried the F10s with and without the M sport package. W/o the M sport package (the different suspension settings button available to mess with), it felt like a much much cheaper vehicle. If people don't get the DHP at least get the M Sport package unless they made the automatic suspension thing a standard. If you like it vanilla then get Halogen lights too.

I can't wait until BMW releases the residual on these cars, especially the M550i. As soon as I get an update on our dealership, I'll be back here to let you guys know

This 550 with M sport looks like one of the best all around daily driver sedans available for the grown up man but I'm sticking to my F80M, can't get too comfortable after all, need a little rougher suspension to remind me to watch the road carefully.

We don't have any information yet on the M550i at the dealership where I am at. I inquired today. I'd like to get that information as soon as possible too. As soon as I hear anything, I'll let you guys know too.

Norway have very different taxes, than you guys have.
Here a 530e, cost about 5% less than the base 520d.
I've not seen the 530e in touring, neither with X-drive, that's what's bothering me at this stage.
