ECU crack coming soon for 2020+ M550's

Stopped by my local speed shop on Monday asking if he's heard anything for the 2020+ M550's with locked ECU's. He said he expects to have something by end of Summer.

His shop tunes a LOT of fast cars. There were 5 lambos when I was there. He's opening another location that will have 12 bays and a AWD dyno in July.

Has tuned plenty of M550/M5 cars, but will not put a piggyback on because he doesnt like them. Only bench tuning.

I'm confused. I thought the 2020+ ECUs had already been cracked? Some guy in Russia (now Finland, I believe)?

Correct, but you have to ship both over.
What he's saying is they expect to have a bench solution at his shop by end of Summer.

That's awesome. Mine can be coded now and I know of at least one BMW specialty shop that will do it. But I don't think we have anything like what you described. Closest would probably be in Nashville, then probably Atlanta or St. Louis. Maybe Little Rock, but I doubt it. There are some high end cars around town (Lamborghini, Ferrari, M cars, P cars) but the performance scene is more the Challenger/Mustang variety and they aren't doing it on a track…

I love living here and I hate cold weather, but for this stuff a small market is a bummer.
