BM3 tune update available

Just to let you all know, there is an update to the 93 octane tune for 2018 M550i BM3 tune. I updated and all is well. I will say burble settings in custom definitely noticable. Car also seems to pull like one angry son of a bitch even more now. The change log lists load and torque changed and ignition timing recalibrated.

That's great news! Unfortunately I checked and there is no update for the N63T3 tune. Did they add any of the other N55/S55/B58 CustomROM features like map switching, Anti-lag, flex fuel switching, etc.?

Going to check if there's a update for 93 octane tune stage 2 for the 540.

Aside from pulling hard or harder than pre update, any other noticeable points good or bad? I’ve researched a bit as I’m considering installing BM3 stage 1 in my 2019 M550i, looks like you’ve been running the tune since the end of June. Any regrets?

I ran stage 1 in my 2015 528 and had to replace the turbo which I believe was coincidental. I can’t recall how long I ran the tune before that happened, it’s one of those things that makes you wonder though.

I’m not totally convinced I really need the tune, it seems like there’s no good place to make use of the power on 395 these days. I imagine it may come in handy on the pike when us CT drivers visit for revenge… 60 in the left lane(s).

For sure it pulls harder now. Been running the tune for a while and absolutely no regrets, love how the car drives now. I have a third party warranty also so no worried about any issues.

Does it matter where you purchase BM3?

I'm trying to buy it right now not sure which website to buy from.

It looks pike XPH will send me a OBD cable?

I have one already can I access my license immediately?

I don’t think it matters, you still receive support from protuningfreaks. It’s been a while since I purchased my first license but iirc, I just downloaded the OTS map of choice and flashed. I used my iPhone with the lightning adapter which was sketchy at first. I lost the connection countless times despite a static IP addy as suggested. It ended up being the lightning adapter, I have the Belkin adapter now. This info is now stated on the BM3 site as it’s relative to the lastest iOS updates.

You’re not joking… it’s definitely noticeable on the highway but I was a bit concerned after accelerating at lower speeds and from a stop. It’s sunny and 60 here today so I took a drive to get lunch. Sport mode, sport shift, gave the accelerator a good push and it bogged. Then I noticed the traction control had kicked in. Turned it off and wow, that’ll work.

Yes, it’s probably because of the tires. The Vredesteins are great but certainly nothing like the Pilot Sport 4S for summer.
