B58 engine at 7,000RPM? And TCU tune possible before xHP?

Hi guys,

Do you know if its possible to get a custom TCU tune that would be able to move shiftpoints? I have G30 540i and its stage 3 so power is aplenty up top. Shifting at ~6820-6870 is not terrible, however, shifting at 7000 or 7050-7100 would be better.

I know this is easy to do in xHP, however, this is not yet out for G30 :///.

Also - is it bad turning the B58 engine up to 7000 in sport mode? I mean I'd not do all the time, just when I drive hard which is here and then.

Thanks a ton!

What have you done to your car ?

Stage 3+ without tranny tune ? On mine clutch slips above 440bhp / 580nm with dct off.

Mission tuning performance got stage 1 for b58 g30. They can do stage 2 tranny too.

Ask them.

Btw what are the figures in your car now ?

Its stage 3 -> Pure 800, BMS intake, charge pipe, downpipe, remus axleback, WMI + custom tune and custom TCU tune. I think though the custom TCU tune is only about torque limit management. So was wondering if there is more to be done.

I'm honestly suprised that at just 440 it would slip. How much power do you run? And how long before it started? And maybe - did you consider any remedy? E.g. 550i clutch?

Thanks! Will try to also get in touch with them

So you had tcu tune. It’s not about just torq limiter. Clutch rail pressure is raised too. To cope with higher torq.

With DCT on it wasn’t as soon as you switch off that with X drive it just slip in clutch...

Up to 560nm gearbox dosent need raider rail pressure.

Currently running Mhd stage 2 with akrapovic sport cat + cat back armytrix, k&n drop in filter. 2 step colder spark plugs and tcu tune to cope with 480bhp on m performance forged 20 inch wheel with Schnitzer suspension coils.

After floor down from 4th to 8th gear above 3.5k rpm. Does it takes it time to change gear to long ?
