I have always questioned the reason for toll roads, especially when we get charged others fees, "for roads," through license fees, registration fees, and gasoline taxes.

Pffft. What about the bridge tolls. Face value on Ny/NJ crossings are $16 for cars and the Verrazano Bridge between Staten Island and Brooklyn is $19. It costs almost $200 for me to send one of my tractor trailers from central NJ to Brooklyn.

In the not-too-distant past, it used to cost me $55 round trip when I towed my dual-axle enclosed race car hauler down to Lawn Guyland for events. Many drivers from up here wouldn't even attend events down there because of the crazy tolls for a $2.00 plastic trophy...even those without trailers.

I crossed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel last year, and remember that the $14 toll for 23 miles of bridge/tunnel seemed like the travel bargain of the century! For being on secondary roads through the DelMarVA, that whole detour was a pleasant drive that I definitely would do again.....

You know you're old when...thinking back to 1973, the first two credit cards your store accepted were Master Charge and Bank Americard...and neither one would approve you for one.

Meanwhile Down Under... Not sure the man is old enough to qualify for this group but I suggest an honorary membership be offered!

You know you're old...when remembering the time there were 10% CD's, new car loans were 15%, and a 13.5% 20 year mortgage was considered "good".

Graduated from High School 43 years ago today. I didn't go to the ceremony because I had the measles, despite having been innoculated.

You may laugh, but when you get to be my age, it's serious shit;
Just as a woman's boobs sag, so will your testicles....
Mine damn near touch the water when I sit on the "pot" anymore.
Thinking of getting a scrotum tuck for my 62nd birthday in July.
With the skin they remove, I'll probably make a set of slippers for the wife
or I might wrap my steering wheel with it....
