...because I finally came up with a spam/phishing filter rule for an ongoing spampaign that I actually feel confident about using!

Woke up in the middle of the night with an "oh, duh!" realization. Punched it into the email gateways at work this morning, and so far it has been 100% effective with no false-positives. I'm going to run it in quarantine/hold messages mode for the weekend, and then switch it to discard mode on Tuesday if it still has zero false-positives.....

Come up with one I can put on my iPhone to stop the daily weight loss and political crap I get via text messaging.

If you want it done right...

The serious bad guys can and do sign up for accounts at the commercial cloud "security" sites, to test and hone their messages so they pass through.....

Can't help there, since my SMS is set to block unknown senders...and I have no known senders. Plus, I have disabled MMS and every other preference checkbox on Verizon's customer portal.

My bank and everyone think that I'm a luddite, because I don't "have" a cell phone when they ask for the number. In reality, I've had the same cell phone number since the 1980's - and have managed to keep it clean/hidden for over three decades. If you want to talk to me, leave a voicemail on my home phone.....

REJOICE!

Today, my dad's suffering ended. The Lord called him home to his eternal reward in heaven.

I'm sorry. May he Rest in Peace.
It's such an emotional roller coaster; you're glad their suffering is over but it's still a hole in your heart that they are gone.

My parents are getting up there. Father is close to 90 and mom is 76. Both have had their health decline rapidly in the last two years. We have had some close calls, but their health can be a slippery slope.

Thankfully both are mobile and have some level of independence. I dread the inevitable but if they are in pain or suffering, then a speedy journey is better.

Such a difficult passage in life.

My 84 year old Brother is doing great in recovery from kidney failure. Added bonus - he does NOT have Parkinsons! Prayers answered!

My condolences. I've felt your pain. My Dad had heart valve replacement surgery that went terribly wrong and spent the last 10 months of his life in a hospital. Mom spent the last year of her life in a long term care facility with dementia. She had no idea who I was when I visited. It's hard watching our parents suffer like that.

My dad left us suddenly and unexpectedly 41 years ago and I still miss him.
