E30 Euro Grill Install

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
So not wasting any time modding the E30.. Jo@Eurodyne graciously donated a set of euro grills for the car and I decided to put them on today!

A quick write up of the install for anyone with an E30.

Here you can see the difference between the US spec grill and the euro grills. The euro grills have a line that goes across the top of the headlights. Very subtle and really only noticeable to the enthusiast.

Started by using a phillips screwdriver and unscrewing the 2 screws on the bottom of the grill. Afterwards, I removed the clips holding the top of the grills to the engine bay.

Use a flat head to remove these clips, but be careful as they snap off with a little force and tend to go flying out.

Once removed, you'll notice on the top part of the grill there is a foam strip. Depending on the condition of your E30, this could be worn down. Luckily mine seemed to be in good shape and I carefully removed it to swap to the euro grill. If you remove it carefully, you can save the adhesive and it should stick on to the new grills no problem. If not, use some super glue and you should be all set.

Once you're done, slip the grills on and use the clips to fasten them back onto the engine bay. Screw them in from the bottom and you're all set!

Just ever so slightly more aggressive!

well i figure he got it used, and wanted to know more about how many miles were on it when he purchased it. but to ask "how many miles were on it when you purchased it used?" outright would be awkward.

the only e30 m3's i've been finding are like 70k miles for a 26k$$ or above 100k miles like around 150-200k for around 15k$$, which i thought was a rip off either way. i'm looking for a red one that isn't going to bust my balls. for 26k i might as well get a new GTI 4dr

you basically asked for an explanation...lol.

Yup, picked it up about 2 weeks ago. It's a 1991 325i with about 146,000 miles on the odometer.

If you're looking for an E30 M3, be prepared to shell out some serious coin for it. These cars are going up in value. Even the E30 325i seems to be gaining popularity.

i'm pretty sure ra2fanatic's comment was suggesting at the fact that it's impossible to buy an e30 new dude...
