Project Gamma Warning

EDIT: Decided to go ahead and edit this post given that so many new developments have occurred, please see original post below.
Originally started this thread in an attempt to warn others of PG's quality control and lack of customer service for PG delivering a damaged filter and was ignored and then blocked by Sam (serhart) on Instagram where we were messaging.
I never expected this thread to take on a life of its own given my gripe was over a $200 filter set, but the amazing forum members of this site decided to do some extra digging on the company so I figured I should list it all at the beginning of this thread to save other users the headache of reading 6 pages and counting...attached are new quotes/images from other users as well as Sam's extremely flimsy excuses/defenses. (And in the effort of being fair there is testimonial from a couple of users standing up for PG held within these 6 pages you may go find those)

They gave me the DPs in a box that was shipped to “Project Gamma” from China.

When paying, there was a stack of stainless Project Gamma exhaust badges sitting on the checkout counter. The exact same badges that were tacked onto my downpipes that they just got in from China.

Anyway. Their listing said “hand fabricated in the USA” at the time. When I saw the label on the box to “Project Gamma” from a Chinese address, I was not happy. When I reached out to ask what the deal was, Sam acted the exact same way then as he’s acting now.

Project Gamma is a company that gets stuff from China, badges it, and claims it’s all proprietary, charging massive amounts of cash for these cheap products. It was only a matter of time until this info became common knowledge.

Also... pretty sure (could be wrong) thats just a trade mark on the name project gamma, has nothing to do with white labeled intakes.

Original Post:
Customer service is shite.. purchased some replacement filters last week and ended up getting one that was perfect and one that was bent, assumed it wouldn't be a hassle to get the one replaced but guess so.

Project gamma claims it must have been damaged in shipping which btw is from their place of business in Houston to my place in Austin a total travel time of 2 hours direct, therefor it's my duty to contact fedex.

Pretty hard for me to imagine that it was hurt in shipping and if so maybe package your products better. Anyways pretty ashamed to have such a rude business associated with Texas.

Anyways…warning to any potential buyers.

Sorry to hear. Let us know how things turn out.

It that was Sam responding, I’ve had a similar (worse) experience. I won’t be buying PG ever again.

Ultimately, they’re a very hit-or-miss company when it comes to product quality, and even more so when it comes to customer service.

Unfortunately I actually love the way the intakes sound and look, do you have an alternative to purchase filters from that would fit the PG tubes?

https://w.amsoil.com/products/ea_fil..._and_Specs.pdf

You want an Amsoil EA filter. You can google it, but these have(had?) the highest airflow with the best particulate filtration. I've ran these on all my big turbo builds, and we ran them on every shop car, even on some 88mm turbos without issue.

I personally don't trust most aftermarket vendors without documented evidence to back up their claims.

Update…
PG ended up messaging me this morning a deal that they would ship me a new filter in exchange for $50 + cost of shipping…while I pondered this offer because the thought of giving them more money seems wrong out of principle they messaged "NVM" a few hours later and proceeded to block me which is just laughable.
Absolutely the most immature least professional brand I've ever dealt with.

Yes it was me (Sam) who replied you with the offer. The reason we made you this offer was that we believe you have damaged the filters. here is the final check pictures we have and if the filters were damaged at transport, the box would have been extremely damaged. and it has been a week since you received them and surprisingly did not report us anything. I am sure you would have told us that when you received it. However our customer satisfaction is our top priority and that's the reason we provided you the offer to purchase a single filter shipping included for $50. After seeing this post we revoked this offer. I hope this explains the situation from our point of view.

I love that even your quality check picture is blurry and impossible to tell if it was in fact damaged in manufacturing. As for why it took a week for me to notice, I was in California on vacation.
And you're absolutely right that the box would of had to have been absolutely demolished to do this kind of damage which it was not. Given that the damage is extremely atypical in so that the dents are almost uniform and in a shape that even me bashing it on the floor over and over wouldn't have been able to replicate it's impossible to believe it would have been damaged during shipping.
Regardless of it was damaged before shipping or during your own website states that;
"What if my product arrives damaged, incorrect, or is missing parts?
If you received the incorrect product or color, missing parts, or the item is defective, email us a picture with your order number and you will receive a refund or exchange. Contact us at info@shopprojectgamma.com and we will work with you to make it right."

I would also add that this is a discussion that could have taken place off the forums had you not blocked me.

Here is big resolution pic. Again this case is very clear you are trying to take advantage of our policy. If you did contact us earlier we would help. But it is very clear you damaged it and seeking free replacement. And trust me it takes a lot of force to bend them. Its impossible that box is in perfect shape but the filter looks like it was ran over by a truck. And yes you have been blocked for bashing my brand on the forum even though we tried to help you.

Your quality check photo still doesn't even show the part of the filter that is damaged, this is laughable. As for contacting you earlier, I'm more then happy to provide screenshots of my flight tickets if you so desire.

Your also basically admitting that its impossible for this to be damaged during shipping as it takes so much force to damage it in which case it seems your now making the argument that I what? swung at my brand new filters with a baseball bat so I could get a new brand new filter?

They probably rescinded their offer and blocked you after you started trashing them in social media. Can’t say I blame them.

Warning potential buyers that a company will not uphold its own policies is not trashing them.

This is beyond stupid of the vendor in question and to respond online where I’m guessing most of their sales originate from is even worse.

Wow! I can’t tell you how many packages I receive without opening for weeks of months. That line of reasoning is absolutely ridiculous!

His concerns have been backed up by your response on a public forum! Thank you for making it abundantly clear!

These guys are grasping at straws instead of doing the right thing! I am glad you made this post and even more stoked that they responded the way they did!

Why would someone damage brand new filters to get brand new replacement filters?

I also understand not opening packages for weeks to months sometimes. I have ordered things for projects and just set the package on the shelf until I get back around to working on that project!

Their whole theory is flawed!

The only thing that is honestly clear is that you place very little importance on customer service.

What an absolute joke. They should be embarrassed for putting this on the customer and then trying to defend their position which makes them look even worse. Talk about a quick way to lose customers. Just do the right thing.

Hope your reputation was worth $179. You deserve every bit of hate that comes your way. Forum members will vote on who is in the right with their wallets.

Even if OP was trying to "take advantage" (which I HIGHLY doubt), your poor attempt at self vindication is unbelievable. What kind of a company airs out their own dirty laundry on the forum? For the OP, in his capacity as the consumer, to complain on the forum about a company a lot of us have done business with is reasonable. What you have done in return is completely unreasonable.

You could have avoided all of this by sending him a single filter, which would have been at the extremely high cost of…get ready…tens of dollars.

If this is how someone manages this small portion of their business, what do you think it says about everything else you do?

Thanks OP for the edification. I am going to open an Amazon package containing expensive parts for a project I haven't gotten around to yet that has been sitting for **checks notes** 41 days.

P.S. This ⬇️ https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=29487497 attempt at crisis management is laughable. Nobody's going to be showing you any love for a while.

If the customers was honest we would have immediately send a replacement. we have sent hundreds of parts people damaged or even lost for free cross the world. This dude goes opens treat on a forum before even replying us for something he did damage. I am sorry but if i don't stop this he will do it to every other vendor.
