How close to MSRP did you pay?
I'm strongly considering ordering a new car and will be going to talk to the dealer soon. Something I'm not sure they'll tell me is whether new cars are still negotiable. How close to MSRP did you pay?
I've heard some people got more than $12k off, but there may be a series of factors towards that. I'm looking for something realistic and up to date. Thanks!

14% under in February 2021 with all incentive and no trade. Paid MSRP minus $1,000 loyalty with trade in April 2022. Both were G30s.

I tell everyone to absolutely refuse any of the "Market adjusted price" line items.
BMW already raised the MSRP prices, and anything else is BS. |

Hell paying MSRP is BS...
Unfortunately, I did pay MSRP for my 2023 M550i and it's the very first car that I've purchased with zero negotiation. I needed to take a shower afterwards.

In today's world, I can understand paying MSRP. But never more. There is a huge sign on the outside of my BMW dealership's building proclaiming "Never more than MSRP". Interestingly, to me, the dealership is part of a huge foreign luxury dealership collection and I don't see a similar sign on any of the others (Audi, Porsche, Range Rover, Jaguar, Mercedes, etc.).

I am glad I’m in a cooling off period right now.
This will all normalize at some point. Until it does you just have to wear a flack jacket. I would aggressively shop around and I’d laugh if they asked me to even consider above MSRP or other dumb “back door” hits like forcing you to pay for “extras” so you’re at MSRP on the car, but bloated enough that they still got a chance to pound you out. As that’s the trick now from what I’ve read anecdotally. Let you buy at MSRP, but throw in Paint Protection and Window Etching and blah blah for another $5K+… Then they don’t have to get blowback for selling above MSRP from the OEM or elsewhere…. Stay safe out there. |

Fortunately there are loyalty, military and other incentives, plus the BMW CCA rebate.
I am a great, loyal customer, so I got a small discount on my 550. Or rather, I will once it arrives...

Thanks guys. I'll anticipate MSRP and see if I can stomach those payments.

How did you get that rebate? That puts me in a more comfortable price range.

A whopping $1500 off my 2022. Bought it in January….that was a first for me not to try and get a deeper discount….considering the times and I'm at a stage in my life where I'm not going to crap myself over money the way I used to. I wanted it and didn't think twice. You win some….and you lose some.

Total spec was for ~115k$ before rebate - (77k$ is base of 550i). I think the main reason was the version of the car (90% of cars here are ordered with smaller motors) and the total value which allowed salesman to give better rebate. Firstly i've came for 540i but 360 cameras was only availible in 550i so i had to upgrade and told the guy that 105k$ is max i can pay. Before pandemic and problems with supply we were used to rebates with around 15-20% for the cars so this 6% is not something special |

A PA dealer offered me a new 550 at msrp. They said that since I was out of their market (I'm in NC) BMW would ding them, so no discount for me.

MSRP, but I didn't even want to haggle. '22 530e.
Tax credit (I still qualified) helped. Gonna keep it for a while so I didn't care about a few thousand off, and honestly was happy to even get a car.

I was in real need of a car last summer as my audi was falling apart. My wife found an M550I in Maryland which is a few states over from me in Berdina Grey with most of the features I wanted. I had to pay them MSRP with no discount and waited about 5 months for a chip hold in Germany but it was worth the wait. I consider myself a shrewd negotiator and had never paid MSRP in my life but the pandemic and supply chain issues changed the dynamic. A few local dealers tried to squeeze a 5k premium, they got the middle finger.
