Question about ceramic coating/PPF and sensors
For those of you that have gotten PPF or ceramic coatings did they apply anything to the various sensors (mainly parking distance "dots") or did they avoid them? I intend to do one or the other or possibly both but didn't think to ask about this until now.

The film they usually cut around the sensors as it is easier for them to install it that way anyway. And most pre-cut films come like that I believe. Coating shouldn't make a difference.

For you guys who have done can you share what kind of pricing we're talking about, thinking PPF + Ceramic, $2-3k?

Example: 1. Suntek Ultra Matte - all surfaces 2. Ceramic Pro 9H - interior and exterior - all surfaces 3. Vinyl contrast accents as you wish (grille, spoiler, handles, roof, etc.) ...Will run you about 6-9k in the DC/MD/VA area |

I think that is wishful thinking. I was quoted around $1,500 for paint correction and ceramic coating. PPF depends on what you want covered but it can be pricey. This was by a private detailer who specializes in Ferrari's. I found him at a exotic car repair shop in Northern VA. He is using Kenzo echocoat 10H coating. I'm taking his word that it is good since I'm picking the detailer and not the product as others have suggested. Unfortunately this product isn't available for retail customers, approved detailers only.

I am quoting CDN numbers and not US so take it for what's it worth - but if I wanted the entire car PPF'ed, I'd be looking at around $3000 for that alone. I had my M3 covered with PPF (hood, bumpers, fender, rear wheel arch) and it cost me over $1K at a good deal place as I paid cash. So the whole car is definitely up there. For the coating, expect to pay around a grand I'd say as they clay bar, power polish, detail etc the car first. It can take a day or two easily depending on how meticulous they are.

what exactly are they doing for paint correction? Is this just a surface prep, or are they doing some sort of touch up or coating??

he normally charges more but since its brand new he discounted as he doesn't expect anything major to correct. I'll know more once I take the car over to him.

Paint correction is a surface prep before they do the ceramic coating. My guy talked about wet sanding to get surface smooth before the ceramic. He said between $200-500 because car is brand new. No scratches or chips as it's probably going from dealer to window tinter to detailer.

Anyone has someone to recommend in Long Island City/Queens/Brooklyn for partial wrap+ceramic? Since the car has to seat there for at least 2 days don't want it be too far away of a Uber ride...

i was recently quoted 1k for total exterior (plus wheels) and to coat my seats with gtechniq serum light. Is this a good price? How much have you all paid for this service and with what product? Thanks!

This is the package I choose. I figured might as well go with the most protection they offer. Very pleased with the finish and ease of cleaning.

Have all the products I'll need to keep it looking good. Might order the gliss coating as I've heard ceramics have issues with water spotting.
