Ah it might be different if you are on i-drive 7 lite.
On ID7 it's in Settings-Driver Assistance-Parking... |

That level is what determines if I get a software update. My M550 production date was December 2019. Thanks! |

Those are all July update I-Steps. So if you don’t have the update with Android Auto discussed here. You don’t have them.

@ LogicalApex what is the final verdict on the July 2020 Update? I still haven't taken mine in to get it. I don't need Android Auto because my Note5 does not support wireless AA and all the newer Samsung phones won't fit in the wireless tray with the exception of the base S10 maybe. Other than that, is there any real advantage? Does it improve the BMW maps experience in the HUD? Will the update prevent me from re-applying all my codes? Especially the "Lane Change Assist" which I love on long drives.

The update has been overall good for me, but there are a few caveats that I mentioned previously on the update. The most glaring one in regards to Maps is the removal of a lot of the menu options in the left for setting a destination. Such as the option to enter a street address directly, enter GPS coordinates, and the like. Although you can do all of these via the "Where to?" search it isn't immediately clear that you can do this. Additionally, your favorites and recent destinations and etc are all moved under a single option which can make that a bit less intuitive as well. The win I see in maps is I feel the Road Hazard alerts and the like are very quick and accurate. For instance, coming around a wall to stopped traffic on the highway I've often received warnings of the traffic being stopped ahead or I'm entering an area with extremely heavy rain accurately. Otherwise, the maps feel largely the same. Maps doesn't look any different in the HUD. You do get CarPlay in the HUD, but I only used that once to see what it looked like and went back to standard BMW maps. |

[QUOTE=LogicalApex;27069877]
at LogicalApex Hey my dealership was being very sketchy on the July Update, I think because they are behind on upgrading their ISTA setup to the latest and greatest so I upgraded on my own using E-Sys to the November 2020 update (I-Step S15A-20-11-542) for the MY 2020 G30 and I see the Navigation differences you speak of an the Apple CarPlay in the HUD but for whatever reason I do not see Android Auto in the Apps menu. Did you get Android Auto after your upgrade? Any idea why I don't have it? Thanks. |

[QUOTE=davidoff86;27104255]Thank you for the quick reply, I appreciate it. The car is going in for warped brake rotors tomorrow with only 2,700 mile on the car I will let them know know AA is not working

Does anyone that has a 2021 5 Series that came with the update had an update remotely since? I have not had one update since getting my car in Aug.
Really thought they would happen more often like Tesla. |

Just dropped off my car for service, they gave me a MY 2021 G30 530 loaner. It has the 11/2020 update which is the latest to my knowledge. I clicked on the RSU button under settings and there were no other updates to be had. It is safe to conclude that if your car came in August that you have the July update and potentially can receive the November update. Did you check the RSU menu under settings to search for updates?

This is expected. From my understanding on reading BWM guidance when I was researching the MY2020 fiasco and they detailed updates after the July update. The RSU is always 1 update behind what is available at the dealer and behind again in I-Step. So you'll see the November 2020 update when the next update is released. If you want the latest update and latest I-Step you'll need to have it installed at a dealer, but it won't be free unless you're having other issues.

This wasn't my car, it was a loaner while my vehicle was being serviced. I think it was about a minute or so. I will test again next week when my car goes back in if they give me another 2021 for the day. If yours is spinning continuously, I suggest you press and hold down the volume button until the head unit reboot. (black screen and restarts) it seems our cars constantly lose communications with the "command and control center"
