19" or 20" Rims on 530e

I recently placed an order on a G30 530e MSport to be delivered end of May. The car will be locked for further alterations next week. I´m very tempted to shod it with 20" rims, but not at the cost of ride and handling ( car has Adaptive Drive ). What do you guys who are in the know think? Am I pushing it too far? Should I stop at 19" ?

i would do your butt and wallet a favor and stay at 19". That size looks great on the car and will be undoubtedly be a better ride and take potholes better...plus less possibility of bent rims!

but that being said, sometimes it is an emotional decision and rational is out the window nd you need to get the 20" rims! Like my spending $650.00 on the ceramic controls option cause I liked the way it looked. Oh well.

What is your expected delivery date? Want to time my order to my first opportunity for a lease pull-forward.

19" is plenty for the 530e. 20" wheels would look ridiculous on that car. It just wouldn't be appropriate in my opinion. Save your money.

Thanks. You nailed it. I am trying to prevent my "emotional decisions and rational" from getting the better of me... . Those 20" rims do look nice, though ;-)

I see your point. My driving pattern and Norwegian tax incentives force me to choose a PHEV. In another life or country I´ll put 20´s on my M550 or M5.

I test drove a 530d with passive msport suspension on 20" rims and it actually rode quite well. But I would still stick to 19s if ordering.

It's 2017, so when you say "ridiculous" you mean "fantastic", right?

I've also ordered a 530e M Sport with 664 19" alloys. I test drove a 530d with 20" alloys & no adaptive drive which I found a little too bumpy at times. I've seen 2 cars side by side at my dealership with 20" & 19" alloys, hard to tell the difference at first glance, so I would suggest to stick with your 19" wheels.

The 664´s are the ones I have on order and will probably stick to. Care to divulge which colour combo you ordered on the car? I´m presently on Bluesetone/Ivory, but change my mind several times a day. My local dealer has a Sapphire Black/Cognac Luxury Line in the showroom. Very elegant.

No I mean that is not a good idea. It just does not fit the image of the car in my opinion. From my American perspective here in Chicago in my opinion it is not appropriate.

I was in Norway in 1995 on a tour sponsored by a window manufacturer. Norway is one of the most beautiful countries on earth with wonderful people. We saw the most beautiful sites and we ate at the very best restaurants in the country with amazing food. The chefs would prepare their very best dishes for us which was inevitably reindeer. Our tour group must have consumed one whole herd of reindeer.

We are talking about an inch in diameter and I feel like I just got served by the condo association for my pink flamingo. Didn't think the option portrayed by BMW themselves in the first infomercial would be likened to "rollin' on 20s"...

"Detracts from ride quality" or "I don't like the look" would have been an opinion... Violating Chicago-American sensibilities or German design intentions is a little over the top, no?

The reindeer massacre was a nice story though.
