Thanks for doing this! I definitely have the diodes in my US-spec 540d taillights but not sure about the wiring. I'm missing all of the LIC_* coding that you have listed in your write up so hopefully that's all it'll take to get it working in my car.

Edit: Sure enough I got the left side rear fog working after doing the rest of the coding in your write up! Thanks!! I have diodes in both rear taillights but presumably the factory wiring only goes to the left (driver's) side.

It's a pity that BMW makes the activation of rear fogs so complicated. This same operation on my F25 and F10 was literally a plug'n play operation. Since the fogs are already a part of the tail light assembly and presumably paid for in a vehicle's purchase price, why make things so complicated?

I started to read this thread with the idea that this G30 mod would be equally simple, but it appears that no one to date has solved the coding issue. It seems that BMW is not happy unless even a simple mod or repair requires dealer participation.
