530i with 540i 759 rims question.

I have a quick question I have 2017 530i and I bought the 759 style rims that came off a 540i. So I’m shopping for tires and this one company was like for the rears 275/30/20 wont be good due to the difference in load capacity from the 530 to the 540. They recommended getting 285/30/20 since that meets the load requirement. Anyone came across that issue or have any advice for me.

Why do you need more than the 97 load index that the 275/30/20 got?

Im not sure that's why im asking in the forums. The 285 and the 275 are the same price so it's not like he's trying to make extra money or anything. I was just confused lol

The load requirement can be met without upsizing. The rear of the 540 will be lighter than the m550 for which these wheels were designed (the Msport rear diff adds some nominal weight on the V8TT). Adding a larger diameter wheel will also add more reciprocating mass and inspiring weight. I'd stick to the factory sizes and use Michelin's :-)

I think i might be confused by your reply. I dont have a 540 or 550 i have a 530. And in the forums i see a bunch of people with a 530 with 20' rims that originally came with the factory 18's or 19's.

who ever sell this info does not have idea what is talking about. first 285 is a stretch on 9 inch wide rim , assuming is OEM size . load can go up not down . that is all ,
