Emergency call system malfunction?

Got this error message on my 540i this morning. Tried diagnosing from the car, but no resolve.

Anyone else experienced/remedied this? TIA.

Hi Joey,

This happened to my 2018 (49,000miles) last month. You will need to have the battery replaced (warranty) - it is a known issue and they used to replace the whole module. Now they have sussed it’s just a battery issue.

Same thing happened to me last month at 7k miles. There is a small motorcycle batter beneath the back seat that they replaced under warranty.

Yup,happened to me in October. Car built in March 2018...about 9,000 miles on the clock. Dealer told me that it was a well established design/manufacturing problem with the non-rechargable battery that powers the system. Took them 4 weeks plus to get the new battery in from Germany.
