Golf R is 40k. Not really saving that much...

I thought N55 has reliability issue?
I had n55 for 6 years and no problems. I'm going on 2 years with my second. I know that's only a sample size of 1 but I thought the n54 was the one with problems (fuel pump?).

First thought was how hideous this car was.

After looking at some IRL pics, I regretfully have to say this car WILL BE a hit.

Think about it-m badge on a $40k car with a brand new design. Not only will it stick out amongst all other bmws (even G20), but it also has more power than the f30 20/28.

I don't like it right away, but I'm sure it will grow on Me. This is obviously the look the market is going for and I think BMWs first attempt is actually quite good.

Yeah I agree. Bmws are funny that way. At first you hate everything about it. Then slowly they tend to grow on you. I hated the G20s new kidney grills. Now I like them a lot. They're unique.

No explanation but I'll bet it sells surprisingly well for what it is.

My reasoning is not everyone has the need/desire to drive an oversized sedan, hence the selling point

Hard to say actually.

Sedans are selling in low numbers for the most part.

Now if BMW Electrify's it, I have no doubt it will sell like there is no tomorrow.

Seems like every second car on the road is a MB CLA. BMW is going to sell a lot of the 2 GC, at least here in Canada, where the Honda Civic has been the number 1 in sales for about 20 years straight.

I'm not one to kick an ICE engine out for electric. But a 4 banger FWD biased car sounds about as appealing with a BMW badge as any comparable Toyota or Honda. So I encourage this to go full electric.

Dont hate until you drive. 302hp in a 3700lb vehicle and AWD is fun as hell in my X2. This engine is strong and I am sure they will tune it further than mine is in the current MY.

Its amazing to me that so many (not OP per se) will accept a front drive biased electric car, but wont give the Roundel and M the benefit of the doubt that perhaps they can build a small AWD car thats fun as hell.

F* the electrics already, i dont want a toy car no matter how fast the acceleration

Anyone know what current tunes are out for this engine?

I hate how big the 3 Series are getting. This looks like a good urban city car.

There are lots of B48 tunes. JB is one of them.

I've driven plenty of FWD cars with plenty of power. And no 4 banger sounds good IMO. Im almost certain bmw did a great job with the X2 but I just wish it wasn't the configuration it was is all.

MINI reliability seems to be increasing the last several years. Otherwise it would be a pass on this.

I've been driving the M240i for weeks and I have to say its a great ride but visibility towards the rear is poor. I can't see this being any better in the newer models.
