Sway bars? Or just springs?
So the other day I was driving my car slightly aggressive and went around a long corner and felt like there was way too much body roll. I wasn't driving recklessly, but the turn was tight enough that it really highlighted the cars suspension weakness - too soft!
I like how the car drives when I am in sport mode I sometimes have an in comfort mode when I just want to chill but most of the time I'm in sport or sport plus. I am wondering if someone makes sway bars that would improve cornering without affecting the ride or if even perhaps sway bars off ask M5 would fit on our car? I know there are spring options which probably would also help. I have modified and lowered almost every other car ive owned and I keep telling myself that this is the one I'm going to leave "mostly " stock... * So curious if anyone has found a way to upgrade sway bars in addition to springs? My car as the standard adaptive suspension I do NOT have the dynamic handling package

I think it’s highly likely that f90 m5 anti roll bars will fit - subframes are the same, and the attachment points 3/4 on the diagram are shared parts with the m5.
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=31_1265 I won’t try that because i have the 2VW adaptive suspension, but i would otherwise, as i started picking parts from the f90 for my m550i

This is interesting, the M5 competition has a unique sway bar part number for the front and rear axle. The rear links and mounts are the same as the G30 but the front has different link part #'s
I think the rear should go right on and the front with aftermarket adjustable links. Last edited by Boosted_8; 06-03-2021 at 06:10 AM.. |

I noticed that Dinan sells a swaybar upgrade for the F90 - I sent them an email to ask them if they've made any attempts to adapt them to the M550.
You would think that they had already thought of it and tried? If I get a response with anything helpful I'll post here.

Did you notice any significant difference from the stock bars on the M550? I can’t imagine the stock sway bars off of an M5 are that expensive? Might be worth swapping them out if it actually improves cornering without negatively affecting ride comfort.

Do the M5 sway bars directly swap in place of M550 bars?
Just did a quick search on eBay and it looks like you could probably pick up a full set front and rear sway bars off of a 2019 or 20 F 90 anywhere from four to $600 I have to do some more research to figure out if they would actually just directly swap in or does it need to be any additional work done to make them bolt up?? I haven’t gone online trying to price them. I wonder if they’re relatively inexpensive?? I would assume that installation is not that difficult?

I have an LCI m550i without the dhp but with adaptive dampers, considering if it's better to look at retrofitting the active roll bars from the dhp pack, or f90 roll bars?
Hard to find much info on it. Thoughts?

For under 1000 pounds, you can get second-hand f90 roll bars and get them fitted. It's quite simple and everything fits if you get the bars with the bushings. The car is much flatter and has better handling, but a bit jittery at the back on uneven surfaces. In my opinion, go for the roll bars, it would be simpler.
