I can't believe that I'm starting to consider Mercedes over BMW....the new E43 AMG looks like it'll be pretty sweet. I really hope that BMW can recover some of that old suspension tuning magic. The F10 just was too much of a luxo barge.
This. Also, the price of an M5 is no longer justifiable to consumers who want more M and less pork. Seems like mum's the word on the manual option as well.

I should add that like Solstice, I owned a 535 with sport suspension and ARS. I have driven several passive MSport 704 suspension equipped cars, one 535 and a 550 and while they are better, the core value of that car is comfort. This is especially noticeable in the steering.

I'm not expecting an M, but I buy a BMW to feel like a BMW. Now Cadillac feels most like a BMW to drive, followed by Mercedes. What gives?

I traded in my 530d Touring SE for a 330d series Touring M Sport. The 5 was a lovely car but it was simply no fun to drive. The 3 is better but it still lacks the outright driver appeal which older BMWs offered. Will they ever go back? I doubt it. If the global market is demanding more of an orientation towards comfort including light steering that's what they will deliver. More's the pity

Here's another rendering: http://www.bmwblog.com/2016/03/28/20...ries-rendered/

I really hope it doesn't look like that...that one looks like they took the current F10 and applied Mercedes style to the back end by making it shorter and smaller

That rendering is horrible. So poor.
