"Remote Control Battery is Empty" (Even after replacing battery)

When I started my car (2018 540) on Saturday, I briefly got a "Remote Control Battery is Empty" message in the cluster. I replaced the battery but I'm still getting it.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

your car is still under warranty. Take it into your dealership and let them sort it out. Replacing the fob battery is even covered under maintenance.

How many remotes get used on this vehicle...just the one...or are there two drivers and two remotes?

Just about 99% of the time when this comes up on the forums...its usually an "old" new battery. Where did you get the new battery from? Did you order off of eBay or Amazon.com? Even if purchased at a local "brick and mortar"...what's the expiration date on the battery pack?

And did you hold the remote up to the icon on the steering wheel column after you replaced the battery? The instructions below are from my f06 owners manual...I recommend checking your G30 manual since some of the "ready state" initiations are different and require 3 presses of the START button...just check to make sure you're doing what is required/necessary for your model year.

Agreed. I had the same issue with a "new battery".

Checked the date on the next one....Replaced....Works like a charm

Replaced my battery once using some good Japanese ones. Works like a charm. Used some cheapies as emergency fix before and got rejected right away even the battery was brand new. It must be testing the battery and certain brands will not work I guess...
