Production for the 2016 5-series ends in October 2016. The G30 will be a 2017 model in the USA so we should see them around March 2017 in dealerships.

What do you think the time frame would be for Euro Delivery? Order in August and pickup in November?

I think the end of production will be the end of May 2016.

The start of production for G30 should be around July with US deliveries starting in late August/Early Sept.

According to this thread, October is accurate:

Upcoming BMW model pipeline - from F16 to G12 (B58 engine to succeed N55) http://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=901686

Usually June is the cutoff time, guess the end of MY is causing the run on.

The 5er World Premiere is scheduled for the Mondial l'Auto in Paris,October 2016. Both the 5er Sedan and Touring will be launched simultaneously.

The 5er Sedan will premiere for the US at the LAIAS in 2017.

Interested in this as well. My current (non-BMW) lease is up in March 2017.

No official word still, but i have only read from this forum that it will premiere in Paris October 2016. Everywhere else it says summer 2016.

"In Summer 2016, BMW will unveil a new generation of the midsize 5 Series sedan. Built under the chassis name – G30"

http://www.bmwblog.com/2015/11/05/g3...endered-again/

"Codenamed G30, the sixth generation of BMW’s exec saloon arrives in summer 2016"

http://www.carmagazine.co.uk/spy-sho...scoop-dossier/

"The 2016 BMW 5 Series is slated for a world premiere in the summer of 2016 in Europe"

http://indianautosblog.com/2015/10/2...snapped-199601

I personally have to decide between the Mercedes E-class W213 and BMW G30. Mercedes will premiere in January at Detroit. I have no time to wait till october, so i hope it's wrong.

I thought E-Class was just updated?! Isn't it already in the streets?
In any case, I think there's no competition there...the E-Class is so horribly wrong and ugly!
I can assure you without even seeing the new 5 yet, I will bet on it any given day!

E-class was facelifted in 2013.

Mercedes has new a design language set by the S-class in 2013. Previous E class was horrible looking (facelift was ok from the outside) and so was C class. But since the new S-class, they have looked good.

Here are some pictures of my 2015 C-class. Do you find it ugly? If you do, then you will find the new E-class ugly too, especially from the outside.

http://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w2...ml#post6304734

I had to choose between 3 or 4 series and the new C-class. 3-series was so cheap looking from the inside, i could not stand it, so i got the new c. It's a great car.

Thanks for the input...again this is a totally personal taste thing and I fully respect your choice, etc. but to me, yes, it is horribly wrong...the interior, taillights, etc...
I will never say it is a bad car though,... I'm sure it is a solid car... however, I went with the new 3 series, as I thought it was gorgeous looking compared to C....so it is relative.
but I just would never buy one due to design aspects...

The current, outgoing E-Class always looked dated compared to the F10. Benz got confused with its design somewhere down the road, Hyundai lights, the late 90's dated interior design, all of it was just really bad in my opinion. Car had no road presence, especially when compared to F10.

The 2017 E-Class is going to be a completely new car, chassis, engines, tech, everything (plenty of articles on the internet). I think it will give BMW run for the money. Gotta love the competition. Customer always wins.

My take on the C-class vs F30....the new C-class interior is light years ahead of the F30 interior (yes, I know benz is a newer car). F30 is a great ride, but I personally wouldn't be able to live with that interior at that price point.

To each his own....

..
Same with the G30 - new platform, new B Series engines, new tech. Let the games begin!

First in its segment with a Carbon Core and a structure made up with composites.

My thoughts exactly. At that price point, the 3 series interior looks very cheap.

I recently drove the old C-class W204 and that my friends was fugly. It was horrible. It really looked like back in the late 90s.

The difference between the old C-class and the new is huge.
