Your dealer has to have an allocation in order to build you a car. No allocation, no car.

Yes. Very real. At least to me (my wife) and on our crappy roads especially. In fact, I would go as far as saying night and day. 540 is way more comfortable on the daily basis. I had a 440 in between and even that was more comfortable than the M3. 540 is better than both.

I've had a M4 for the past 3 years. Traded it In awaiting the arrival of my 18 540I Msport with all the extras and MPE. It arrived a week ago and has been nothing shy of fantastic.

While there are some serious differences between the two on size alone the 540I has been a delight to drive. A few things I miss about the M for sure and could've gone M3 comp pack this round as I wanted a sedan, however I prefer the balance of lux and sport on the 5 and was ready for a change. Handling and ride is night and day difference but for me that's a good thing.

Tom: You might check with your dealer. He will know what boat you're on. The Genius will also have that info. My car is on the Glovis Companion, due in Baltimore on 6/28.

F90 M5 in sport plus more for all settings is more comfortable than the F8X M3/M4.

There is an M Tour happening and had an opportunity to drive every single M car including the M760 (oh my god what a BEAST) and it was a great way to feel the difference between the M cars and was actually surprised how refined and tame the M5 was - not to a point of detriment but it really is two cars in one. M5 competition or not, I would be happy with the base M5 because it's more car than I would ever need and would probably be for 90% of buyers.

Which brings me to the M550. If there is one thing about the M5 that is disappointing, it's the exhaust. Too quiet for a performance sedan and doesn't necessarily stand out from the M550 and everyday performance is identical so unless you're specifically looking for a M car, the M550 is an excellent alternative to the M5.

Mines FINALLY left factory and on train to port of exit as of June 21

Was completed may 30th and took 3 weeks to be delivered to port

Nate: Wonder what held you up for so long? Was your's entered as a sold unit and a priority 1? I sure passed you by. I'm about half way across. Due in Baltimore on Weds. 6/27. Would love to have it by the 2nd or 3rd so it can be a wax on/wax off day on the 4th!

My car arrived in Baltimore this morning. With any luck at all, it should be in my garage one day next week! Then wax and detail, then drive, drive, drive! First an M-22 drive in northern Michigan, then the Smokies, then this fall OK and CO! Can't wait!
