Pulled from M3/M4 Section
Just came across this and wanted to share it with fellow M2 members.
Just something to keep an eye on! https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1570544 |

The Forge cooler looks nice but it has complete welds on both ends vs the CSF having the ends bolted on with gaskets... Does this mean the CSF one has a serviceable core?

I would be extremely pissed if a brand new car required a $2000 IC upgrade to be reliable in stock form. Although there are thousands and thousands of S55s on the roads and we're seeing an extremely small subset of failures.

No, we do not have an Air to Water intercooler.
Here's another link of one guys motor letting go due to hydrolock https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1572223 Someone mention on the first link up top that it could have been a bad batch of coolers...but the dates of each incident seems to vary. It's just crazy that this is all sort of coming out of the woodwork. Some people have gone through multiple ones apparently! |
