Hi,

Was front radar ever an option in the UK for a 550i? I've been looking for a second hand 550i and cant find one with the option, so am wondering if it was ever an option at all

I doubt you will find 'Radar' as an option - but the thing that uses it - Active Cruise Control (ACC) for one would be the clue, amongst others.

Yes it was. I have it on mine.
From memory I think it was part of the technology plus pack which again from memory was about £4500. )
When I was purchasing mine a year ago, of those that were in stock ( ie ordered by the dealers rather than a customer order), none had ACC which I thought odd at the time. The cost may be a factor?

They are out there, obvious visual clues are the sensor under the front bumper and the steering wheel buttons. Obviously the VIN will state so

Thanks AP. Ended up buying a low mileage 540i (price was just toooo good!). I'll take another look at a 550i next year. Definitely want the ACC function (had it on wifes SQ5 and loved it)
