How do you charge big phone?

I found out that the 530e's built-in wireless charger wouldn't fit my wife's iPhone 13 Pro Max or my S22 Ultra. So I am looking for other alternatives. I found something like this from aliexpress but it is not for G30.
www. aliexpress. us/item/3256803515008608.html. Does anyone has success with something like this? How do you charge a big phone that won't fit inside the wireless charger?

This may sound a bit naive, but can't you plug it in to a USB port? I plug in an old iPhone to a USB port primarily to play the music on the phone and because it charges it at the same time as I am playing the music (as opposed to using my phone via Bluetooth which drains the battery). Just a thought. --Bob

I could. But the USB ports on my car charge very slowly, plus I like the convenient of wireless charging.

I believe the car's USB ports are not QC capable so they only output the standard 5v.

How about something along these lines?

https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-FULN...-7-spons&psc=1

USB to the charger, but wireless for the phone.

Edit: Supports 5V (2 Amp) or 9V (1.6 Amp) USB ports for input power.

I also have the iPhone 13 Pro Max, has anyone found a workable solution for this?

If USB ports don't carry enough power, guessing some sort of a cigarette lighter mount might be needed. I used this on my Audi A6, it clamps into the CD port but cars no longer come with CD players:

12 pro max works when you remove the case. Not sure if 13 is bigger.

No. Can the factory charger be replaced with the non-charging piece? Would it be worth it? Don't know....

Thanks. Mine has the factory wireless charging there so probably won't work. The factory wireless charging doesn't appear to be removable unless part of the lower console is replaced and I don't want to do that.

That may work, but it takes away the convenient part...

That solves the charging part, but it is not very elegant...

Anyways, I consider wireless charging a gimmick, it heats up the phone and if you are using carplay with maps for example it will barely charge at all. Nothing beats real charger.

Same. The charging pad in my 2018 sucks. My wife's X7 doesn't have wireless charging and it forces me to use the cord, which actually works. I'm just OCD and hate plugging in the cord and cluttering the console.

You are correct. BMW models can output 3A on their USB C ports, however only on 5V so it likely won't fast charge your phone any faster than the USB A port.

QC is a patented Qualcomm technology and is only used by some Android phones. BMW would have to pay Qualcomm to license QC which I would not expect them to do.

It would be nice for BMW to implement USB C PD specification which would allow fast charging of many devices. Maybe not super fast charging, but faster than standard charge speed.

This didn't fit my 2023 M550i, wouldn't fit through the opening. Guessing it only works with non-wireless charging.

My '22 doesn't have wireless charging. I use the usb-c in my arm rest. It charges my iPhone very quickly and allows me to stow it while driving so I don't pick it up.

New BMWs have larger wireless charging pads, I've had no problems with my Note 20 Ultra, but on my 2017 5 series, its never fit. They're probably updating the wireless charger size with how big new phones are getting.

My iPhone 13 Max/Pro/Plus/whatever just about fits without the case. But it's a pain to keep having to take it out of the case. I'm thinking of just putting it in storage and using the wire to charge.
