Drive side strut

This my first time posting I have a front broken drive side strut

I don't see anything standing out in the pic just looks dirty.

So the strut top mount itself that failed inboard of the mounting fasteners? I don’t see the top hat or the strut central mounting nut/bolt. I can’t picture how it could fail this way

This is not an e9X M3. Is it an ‘07 e9x 335i?
