Lightbulb Christmas Lights/Decor 2020

I used to be like, "It's too early for Lights."
But having put up decor for years now, you begin to want to enjoy/admire your efforts for as long as possible...

Damn, you're on the ball. Looks good! We drove by the Christmas tree place tonight and they have everything ready but still not open. I'm ready for my damn tree!

Thanks! So you're grabbing a real tree? What size and type? Wonder why they're delaying?
I'll be putting up our tree after Thanksgiving.

I'll be putting up our tree after Thanksgiving.
It's normally at least 12-14' lightly flocked with glitter.
I don't know what the hold up is. They may have just been closed when we drove by last night. I wanted to have it decorated before Thanksgiving so I need to get it by tomorrow. We are landscaping our house and planting new sod. I was hoping to have the tree done by now

kscarrol I didn't see his comment but the flocked with glitter may have helped him realize I'm not a dude lol.

Totally innocent! Marcus simply said "thanks man!" so I just was really just busting his chops a bit!

We don't put them up on the house, just in the bushes out front. Usually a post Thanksgiving dinner with cocktail in hand activity!

i think this year we may just have time to put the Xmas tree up at new house.
We wont have time to decorate unless closing happens right after Thanksgiving, like this Friday coming up.

Your santa is huge. If you saw my lights you'd laugh. I have a 40" gingerbread man up with a set of 8 candy cane lights (only 7 of them working)

Then some crappy thing that puts red and green dots on your house.

People probably drive by and think that the people who live there are constantly bickering.

Wife: Go decorate for christmas! I've been telling you for weeks now! I don't want to be the only one on the block without decorations!

Narrator: Husband goes outside and comes back five minutes later.

Husband: Ok, I am done.

Narrator: Poor...poor lurker looks like the scrooge has struck again.

Sounds like us but the wife and I are in agreement. Three strands of lights in the bushes out front and we're done. We do have an old, sad inflatable Frosty the Snowman which may or may not be put up on any given year. Kids loved it when they were young but are kind of embarrassed by it now...

We are the CA version of you guys!

My original post is a bit deceptive as we bought some tree lights last year at 80% off. So I will wrap 3-5 palm trees with some lights.

The people will drive by and laugh still, but they will say, "Looks like the wife won this year"

Yep. Our Santa is 12ft! I gotta put down extra stakes to keep him secured.

80% off, great buy! Our snobby neighborhood greatly prefers small white lights (non-blinking!)... which is exactly why we go with the large, multi-colored bulbs!! First Christmas after we moved in and put them up, the sweet older lady across the street came over to comment on them. This only ensured we put them back up every year. We are kind of the Griswold's of our block... and I love that!

Finished mine today, gotta say, it's a fucker of a job. Most of our lights involve wrapping the lights so you're that guy in the front yard trying to hold UP the light and wrap an arm full of lights around a tree or post of whatever, fuck, just as sit job. But is i done.

It's not even Thanksgiving yet

We left up the red center light that my wife made last year. I was hoping to get by with that, but she was adding to the list for Friday. "And I know where the lights, and the reindeer are in storage"

Of course, she points them out, then has to go do something inside, and I'm left to untangle, disect, and repair all the strings that never work AFTER you put them away. They all freaking worked when we took them down

Bahh- humbug
