Exhaust/Muffler Tip Size

I currently have a G30 520d M-Sport which has the 2 rectangular shaped exhaust tips. I have just purchased an M5 style rear diffuser for the bumper. It looks like there will be a large gap between the existing exhaust/muffler tips and the new diffuser. I do recall someone on this forum stating that the 550 had larger rectangle shaped tips. Can anyone tell me if this is the case and if so, maybe share some part numbers or photos/links. Thanks.

The V8 will probably be using the same or similar tips to the MPE system exhaust. There's a carbon and chrome option. Check out this site for part numbers:

Thanks for the info although I have a standard M-Sport exhaust, not the MPE one so not sure even if the MPE tips fit the standard exhaust.

Can you please measure size for the bumper and take a picture?
I have different issue...I have 540i and when purchased m5 diffuser and m performance diffuser they were made for 540 and smaller however my aftermarket quad exhaust tips are made for 550i diffuser (4x102mm) and can not fit those bumpers and I had to return them...

There's significant differences between the two systems. The MPE tips are separate pieces with elbows that clamp to the exhaust, whereas the stock system has the tips welded to the elbows and the exhaust. Strangely the pipe elbow that joins tip to exhaust is a wider diameter on the stock 540i exhaust than it is on the MPE. Without some crafty cutting and welding, you're not going to be able to fit the MPE tips on a stock system.

The next issue is their size and shape in general. The tips themselves are larger for the MPE of course (in both height and width). Attached are some images to show rough dimensions and the shape difference.

Maybe someone could clear up a similar issue for me. I have a 540xi M Sport and have just ordered an M Performance Exhaust System p/n 8302431035 plus the required M Performance Chrome Exhaust Finishers (Set of 2) p/n 18302444529. Unlike with the MPPSK, according to the BMW parts guy looking at the ordering system, the M Performance Exhaust does not seem to specify the need for the M550 rear diffuser or valance. Can this be possible or is the parts guy wrong. I suspect the latter and will recheck on Monday. Thanks, Bob

Well you definitely don't need a diffusor, but the rear cover panel (P./N#: 51128067763) which has the exhaust cutouts would need changing as the exhaust components on the MPPSK are the same as what was quoted to you. You can view the the part numbers here:

Yes I think you are right; I need 7763. The parts guy was a bit new at his job though a long time dealership employee. I will have him talk with the more knowledgeable guys and get it ordered. Thanks--Bob
