BMW Remote Services
Hi,
Just bought a 11 month old with 5k on the clock. I've got all services within connected drive except WIFI hotspot, Office 365 and Remote Services. All other options I have until 2020 which would be 3 years from manufacturer. My question is around remote services, is this not a service which should come as standard for 3 years also, it's asking me to pay £29 for 12 months? I have emailed BMW but I never get a reply. Thanks. |

AP is right. This is to do with timing. In all the 2017 G30 cars, this was a £60 option. They've just added it as a standard feature in new cars.

Just picking this back up, I purchased remote services on my current G30 in September last year, was a one off charge £60 for lifetime. Just about to collect my next G30, which is a 2017, same year as my current, only to be told by connected drive that they have now dropped the one off payment in favour of the annual subscription of £29.
She pointed out that it is now cheaper, I didn’t bother explaining the error of her statement. Why oh why do BMW keep shafting us on these services, they also did this with Apple CarPlay, increasing the price, when most manufacturers give this for life of the vehicle. Coupled with the recent road tax hike. Anyway rant over |
