After a short break, finally back with a new 540!

And it feels so good...

On Saturday picked up a brand new '19 540i xDrive M Sport -

Carbon Black
Cognac Dakota

Multi-contour Seats
Parking Assistance Package
Premium Package 2 (HUD, etc)
664M 19"s
Harmon Kardon
Heated steering wheel

I had a '17 540 M Sport with a very similar build, so I know the car well. So good to be back, IMO the best all around sport sedan on the market, by a wide margin.

Previously had an Alpine White, black is normally not my first choice. But my goodness is the CB gorgeous. Under most conditions it's a very very dark blue. Just awesome. Officially my favorite standard G30 color now.

Cognac seats are spectacular. Such a rich, bold color. I'm one of the few around here that prefer Dakota over Nappa, even if the cost were the same

Won't get into how it drives, I just love it. Can't wait to open it up in a few hundred miles.

The one tiny regret I have with this build is the burl walnut. Not a biggie, but I just think it takes away from the bold, sporty feel of this car, especially the M Sport. The walnut is just a bit dated IMO. Then again, I'm not sure which other wood would go well with the Cognac- maybe fineline or poplar? Oh well. I wasn't interested in waiting for a custom order, and this car ticked all the other boxes for me.

Black grills on order, tints shortly, and a little bit of coding. JB4 in 10k miles or so- although I see that they've come up with a flash tune now, will have to ask how it compares to the JB4.

As you might imagine, I think you got a really spectacular color combination. I have essentially the same car and enjoy it greatly. I actually had a 2010 535xi in Carbon Black with a tan interior ("Natural Leather" back then) and ordered my 2019 540xi to basically duplicate the old one. I will be adding the performance exhaust sometime soon, too, just for fun. Enjoy it! --Bob
