Opening Exhaust Valve
Hi Everyone,
I have a 2021 540i and I've been trying to open the exhaust flap without throwing any codes. I've been reading around but still haven't found an answer. Before someone says use bimmercode or bimmerlink to open flap then pull fuse, my DMT is still locked and can't be tuned yet. This is my first bimmer so I'm still learning. Thanks for the help everyone. |

Haven’t tried taking out the valve clip. Wanted to see if there were other options besides tuning. |

following this thread as I am curious about having mine open as well.
IF its coded to stay on, is this something that voids warranty? |

You could buy a $200ish add on that is a remote valve controller. Can program garage buttons for open/closed and you can control and override it at your convenience.
Can buy the controllers to default in open, default to closed, or default to BMW OEM settings. Have it on my m550i with a Remus system and am very happy to have the full control 100% of the time |

Remove the clip that connects the actuator to the exhaust flap. Wire the exhaust flap open (There's a grove where the clip attaches that you can seat a piece of wire in, wrap that around the exhaust and you're done)
No codes, no nothing. Car still thinks it's opening and closing the flap as the actuator is still moving. It's just not connected to anything. Took me about 3 mins to do this the other day.
