Same here.

Patricks BMW has a 530 with more miles for 2k more.

But, it's grey, not black. I'm not a huge fan of black because it gets dirty fast and scratches will show easily. But I can have a guy at my job apply a ceramic coating with a one-step paint correction for about $500

I don't like those wheels. MAke the car look base

Yup, they've got 540s. Only one 530. I don't like those wheels on the 530 they have in stock
You didn't like those 540s? I bet you could get them down in that low 40s range. But you better like black and beige… apparently that was a big color combo for them in 2019.

Or… you could say to hell with it, YOLO, and snag that Med Blue 550 they've got!

One day…

Nahhh I think I'll stay away from the 550.

Nope, I don't like white and I don't like the wheels on that blue 540

I agree with you on the wheels. I also have the same reservations about black. I ended up with dark graphite. It's a pretty good alternative to black, I think.

Oddly enough, I've got a friend that will do the ceramic for around the same. I don't know when he will get me in but I'm really looking forward to it. Never had that on a car before.

It's about a $10k difference from the 530(The one I am looking at is priced at $39,588) A 540 is close to $49k.

In general. It's like a $5k difference between a 530 and 540.
Wow - i got my 2018 540i xdrive m-sport with 34k miles, CPO lease return, Feb 2021 for 39k.
Crazy how the price increased.

All those cars have a lot of miles. That 550 is pretty old.

For a second I felt like a sucker for paying a few thousand more than that for the comparable one I got in December. Then I remembered they paid me the same price that I bought my Tahoe for, after I put two years and 20,000 miles on it. So it can go both ways.

This is what the rep. at Perillo said, "If you are asking for us to sell at $38,500+++ you'd be asking us to break even. We don't break even on vehicles so we will pass on your offer. We will not be discounted further. With the 2 rebates from BMW plus the $300.00 off you'll be getting $1,300.00 off total so $39,588.00+++, if that works for you, let me know."

This is the car

https://www.perillobmw.com/inventory...ja7c5xjwc76055

Idk if I believe we're breaking even at $38,500. They took it in on trade. Trade value is $37,900. Usually, dealers pay less than that.

It's also certified. You can ask for a list of what they had to put in after the trade to get it qualified for CPO. Dealers don't usually just have in what they paid for the trade.

Back in March 2021 when we started looking at used cars on BMWUSA.com, by the time I called and offered a deposit, the cars where sold or already had a deposit ahead of me. We ordered new in Aug, 2021 instead. I was tired of the game.

Goodluck OP. It's a crazy market out there.

Looks nice and clean with decent miles. Good luck with the search/purchase. I test drove a 540 somewhere along the line and was impressed with its pep. Never drove a 530.

$1k difference is not much to split hairs about in this market. Keep in mind, since you're buying used, you're not guaranteed to get the same options on the car at other dealers.

Did you happen to check any sites like Car Gurus to see how long Perillo has had the car on their lot? It might give you a gauge as to how eager they are to sell it now.

Go with the financing to get a deeper discount then pay it off. If there is a prepayment penalty it usually will only be about $75. Also, I see that it has been on the lot for almost a month. I would try to hit them a little harder but If you really like the car, just bite the bullet. The mileage is right.

It's been on the lot for almost a month. I contacted the salesmen and told him I'll be there Wednesday morning. My dads coming with me since this is my first big purchase.

I told the salesmen my dads gotta be at work before 2 pm. So, I'm not coming in to waste time. Also told him that I just want to get a good deal and be out of there. I've been to other BMW dealers so whoever gives me the better deal will earn my business, a positive CSI and, a positive review.

He said, " In regards to getting the best deal, we'd love the opportunity to earn your business but there will not be negotiating further with you. The final updated numbers I sent you would be the deal. We do not do the whole back and forth." We'll see about that. If I see scratches or curbed wheels, I'm not paying for the car until it's fixed.

They took it in on trade, so kbb trade-in is $36,069, J.D. Power is, $37,775, MMR (wholesale) is, $40,900. I think $38,500 is a good deal. Puts me at $42k~ otd. I offered him $38500. They said that's what they got in the car. I'll see if they'll show me that. We show customers what we have in a car and what we're losing when it comes to negotiating to show them how good of a deal they're getting.

If this is a car you really like and want, you're going to be kicking yourself when you lose out on it over a couple %.

Back when I was shopping for an F10 I found a perfect vehicle and lost it over $1k. I was getting the same responses from the dealer and they stood fast. Still look back on how I messed that up (twice no less as one of the buyers backed out and i had a second chance).

With that lesson learned when I saw this perfectly optioned 540 G30 (every option minus night vision, heated steering, leather dash and spare tire) I didn't make the same mistake. Timing rewarded me as car prices shot up right after I purchased in October 2020.

Here's an idea. Kelley blue book never really gives the true trade-in. Dealers don't pay anything near that. Go to carmax.com and throw the Vin number in as if you're trading it in. I found those prices to be pretty close to what the dealer will truly pay. I'll be interested to see what they come at you with
