OKay, just back from the dealer. Update is done. No runs yet, its raining. Immediate thoughts? Throttle response is vastly improved. The pedal isn't completely dead anymore.
Just a note; if you have any coding done, back it up before the update. All coding will be erased.
I'll update when I get an opportunity to launch. Gotta go recode my car.

EDIT: Tried to launch it. Screwed it up twice. First time it didn't shift and slammed the rev limiter. On a positive note, the 0-30 was .21 quicker than last time. Second time the brakes didn't hold so the timer started way early.

Keep us posted! Still haven’t even made my appointment yet lol. How long did it take your dealer to do? I just hate bringing my car to the dealer and was secretly hoping it would come out via cloud at some point and I could wait…but with everyone saying it’s such a huge improvement I can’t wait!!

It took them overnight with my car. It had some sort of IP problem that had to be corrected first. "performed abl to address ip address issue before programming.program vehicle per sib"

No idea what that means. All I can figure out is that SIB is Service Information Bulletin. ABL? No clue.

I'm thinking thats why they haven't released it OTA. If the cars have issues that need to be corrected before the programming, they can't really have the cars do their own updates.

I feel the same way about bringing my car to the dealer but I did and I will tell you off the line response is much better, 1st gear pulls so much better. I was fine with the car previously and accepted first gear wasn’t great but can tell you I am really happy with the feel now …. just so much better, this thing just goes like it probably should have from the beginning.

Bring it in and get it done, you will be happy you did.

QQ - Has anyone else noticed the car short shifting 4th when using launch control for a 1/4 sprint?

How early is it shifting? If it’s just a bit before redline, could it be on purpose? Shifting before the power falls off maybe…

Its pretty annoying as 1-2-3 gets to redline then 4th changes itself at about 5k rpm. This puts 5th in a sub optimal rev range and probably costs 2-3 tenths. It still does it even if you activate manual mode with the 3rd gear change from the paddle. I can only replicate it from launch control WOT.

Absolutely I have the same problem after the acceleration update. I feel like they got to set up for first and second gear and then pulled something in 4th and 5th gear to slow the car down.

I was going to post the same thing and ask, but nobody was complaining, so I assume maybe it was just my car.

My trap speed before the update was 126 mph now it's down to 124.5 and I think it's due to that 4th and 5th gear.

Are you stock? So it seems like a gearing issue where it's short shifting?

I'm wondering if in case you guys are using piggyback tunes it's conflicting with it.

Good thought - I didn't think of that. We are both using JB4s. if boosted is using map zero then the JB4 is not doing anything for him. I use map 2 so it is

I want to say it was doing it with map 1, 6 and disabled on 0. Doubting myself now, so will validate its doing it in every launch control related situation. Let me know if you have a stock car and it does it to you too please!

Where are you guys finding roads to do these runs? Jeez, I have a hard time finding someplace flat thats long enough for a 0-60.

For my 0 to 60 runs there are a lot of industrial parks by me with new construction buildings that are about a quarter mile in length so I use their loading dock area because it's flat.

For my quarter mile runs, there is a flat concrete frontage road about a mile long to get onto the expressway. That gives me some time to stop the vehicle.

I’ve got a perfect spot for 0-100, but nothing for 1/4s that I know of. Also loss of license for 6 months, $2500 fine, and possible impound of the car puts me off.

Wow! Nice runs man. That’s so impressive for just DPs and JB4. I can’t imagine the numbers after a tune once the ecu is unlocked.

One thing I’m hopeful the eco tunes give us increased redline (actually TCU tune). I watched an M5 CS video and it looks like it revs to 7500 or more.

Not sure about extra boost. When I first got the jb4 installed I ran some logs and it was showing my max boost at 19 PSI. I'm not sure what stock is supposed to be?

I got a run in. Its .36 better than before, but I'm still stuck in the 4's without roll out. With Rollout is in the 3's, which tells me the brakes didn't hold and the car moved before I launched it.

@Mike one tap on traction car in sport plus, gear lever over to sport/ manual, stomp on the brake and gas all the way down to the kick down button. You will see a little flag and the brakes do not strain as the torque converter spins up disconnected.
