Pending sale to dealership. May have some goodies (including LCI tail lights) for sale for cheap.

Dang car looks nice. You change through BMWs a lot though? I rem you had a new M550i on order, switched to an M5C, sold that, got this(?), and are now onto an M3 order? That's a lot of BMW action. 🤣

Thanks, man. You sound like my wife!

Yeah, one could say I have a sickness. When I have something comfortable, i want something sportier. When I have a sportier car, I miss that luxury that the G30 provides. So tough! First world problems.

Thanks. From Ebay. Below is my video. I am actually getting a brand new set that I ordered for a friend, but he ended up selling the car. If anyone is interested - I'd rather sell it here for the same price instead of sending it back.

Had a change of heart and got this instead of waiting for an M3C allocation. Thread can be closed.

Congrats, that is quite different than an M3C or an M550. Is this your first Italian car? (excluding Lambo and Ferrari)?

I also deviated from BMW before my M550 with a Maserati and the experiment lasted less than a year. Alpha and Maserati are both Fiat-Chrysler products and at the end of the day, I just missed German engineering in terms of handling and driving experience. I was willing to accept the lack of technology and inferior interior trim and comfort, but driving experience left a lot to be desired. Just too much Chrysler for me. I hope this Stelvio QUADRIFOGLIO is a different experience for you. It was an expensive mistake for me. I also found that Maserati sounded faster than they were. The only thing I miss about the car is the exhaust note, but it was a dog off the line. I hope the 500hp of yours feels like 500hp. I just could not get used to waiting for the turbos to kick in to get that rush. That doesn't happen until you hit 30mph and I appreciate 0-30 pull more than 30-60 pull, which was where I felt somewhat close to 500hp, but not even close to a V8 with 500hp.

They do both make beautiful cars (exterior). Just pure sex and exclusive. Selfishly, I hope you are back in the BMW 5-series club soon, I will miss your contributions, unselfishly, I hope I am wrong.

ha ha, yeah - Italian cars are not for everyone. Especially a Maserati which I would expect to have much better quality as they are bigger and actually compete with the 5 series.

The quality is definitely better in the BMW - no question. As is the tech. The infotainment system is laughable - but at least I have Android Auto.

The driving experience is not comparable. The 5 is a large luxury car that's a fast cruiser. Even with DHP (and possibly because of it) it became very isolating after a while and I just needed something more fun to drive. The Stelvio QV feels like a raised sports car. They really serve different purposes.

From the handling to the sound, everything is just stepped up and more sport oriented. The Sparco carbon bucket seats hug you as you take corners while in the 5 you feel more like a passenger. Initially I test drove the the Giulia, which has a faster Nurburgring time than the M5 Competition. Even taking the times out of the equation, it's a much more fun car to drive. Reminded me of a faster M2C with better quality interior and 2 extra doors. Ripping through the gears feels like you are in something special - especially in race mode with the valves open. It gave me a sensation that not even the M5C with aftermarket exhaust did. At the end of the day I wanted AWD due to Chicago winters and ended up with the Stelvio QV.

I think Alfas and Maseratis are quite different and cater to different demographics. Maserati are meant (but fail) to compete with bigger luxury cars like the 5 series while the Alfas are more geared towards people who prefer the driving experience and everything else second.

Best of luck, that's awesome. you seem pumped. It's definitely a head turner! I was speaking specifically to driving experience. I hope newer Alphas are different. Report back in 6 months. BTW, I wasn't talking about a 5-series vs. a Selvio. I was referring to German engineering vs. Italian/Chrysler engineering.

German engineering is 2nd to none! Modern ones just lack some passion compared to the E series cars. It's hard to satisfy all needs!
