straight/H/X/double H/X pipes - old school V8 sound?
so if i were to delete the 2 resonators on the M550i,
what do i replace with to get closest to the old school pushrod V8 sound? the low pitched pop pop pop pop, not the high pitched growl where it sounds more like a V6 coz you can't hear the 8 cylinders firing (eg the M5 does that) |

IMO I would go with true dual, meaning leaving the 2 pipes separate. If you choose to do a crossover I would go with and H pipe as there known to be deeper but will sound smoother then true dual.

I did the resonator delete and just went back with two straight pipes. I didn’t try any other way but I’m happy with it.
