Done waiting for bm3!
I just placed my order for the BPM tune. I did a lot of research and compared to DME and RK tunes and contacted all companies via phone and e-mail. It seems to be the best value for what you get for your money when it comes to reputation, gains and customer service vs. $$ spent.
BPM stands out right away when it comes to customer service. They are very responsive and answering all the questions with details. That perfectly matches with other people's opinions.
I can't say the same about RK tunes. I tried calling them multiple times and left messages with no response. Same thing goes to e-mail communication - slow and spotty. I wouldn't feel comfortable getting a tune from a place that doesn't respond to my e-mails and phone calls.
BPM provided me with a cell phone number to call/txt if I have more questions or concerns. Impressive.
I can't wait for the tune to arrive and I will share my impressions with all of you.

Do some pre/post dragy 0-60 and 1/4 if possible

I've been visiting this thread ever since I purchased my 2019 M550xi back in December. Finally pulled the trigger on DME tune. The positive reviews on DME are what finalized my decision.

I've been running the tune since Tuesday and holy shit! The car has been unleashed. Very consistent pull through all RPMs and still have yet to lose traction. I have been more surprised with the power from a 30-40 roll. Unfortunately I do not have access to a dyno in Lubbock, TX, but my butt dyno is very happy. Besides the tune, I'm stock except for a resonator delete for added soundtrack.

Mo was the gentleman who completed the tune and I have nothing but great things to say about the guy. Walked me through everything and performed everything in a timely manner. Stand up guys over there at DME.

Highly recommend!

How easy is it to "remove" the DME tune from the car, and still be able to put it back on later?? I'm just thinking for dealer service work, etc.

if im not mistaken these tuners all provide flash tuning via obd2 port. you can probably just flash back to stock yourself before going to dealer for service.

My BPM tune is installed and I'm very happy with the outcome! It cost me $1399. Definitely more power throughout all rpms and feels much faster now. No error codes or any other issues whatsoever. I will take it to the dyno and drag strip soon and share results. Communication and support through the process was excellent and Mike from BPM ensured proper installation for me. Very easy to go back to stock, it takes about 5 minutes to put it back.
Overall great product and I highly recommend it to anybody who is looking for more useable power without sacrificing drivability or reliability.

I went with Stage 1 as I do not have downpipes or intakes. As for now, it's more than enough power for me.

Mo told me to call him if I need to reflash back to stock.

Are there any intakes for the M550i available? Haven't been able to find any from a simple Google search.

I got it directly from BPM. I am super happy with Stage 1 performance. Best 0-60 was 3.58 sliding a little bit. 60-100 time was more impressive at 4.23 vs Racechip GTS black at 4.78.
Low end and mid range was much improved and you can definitely feel it every time you hit the accelerator.
I just raced and pulled on a Panamera Turbo the other day. Car really moves. On top of that I get an average of 20.4mpg daily driving it(relaxed suburban commute).
I think you'll be very happy with it.

It does if you ask for it. Most do it as part of the tuning process.

Another RK tunes client here. Dunno what everybody is complaining about the client service side. I got answered as long as I called in business hours and had a pretty revealing conversation about the tune. Works as promised/advertised. I'm happy with the result and would like to point out that it's much smoother than the jb4 stages (any of them). I also have a jb4 on the car but that has kinda been made obsolete. The rk tune now shows about 16-17 psi on my jb4 logs and even stage 1 additive on jb4 would push it to the sensor limit. I'm monitoring iat and advance and it seems these engines can go a long way power wise.
A 3.5 bar sensor or 4 bar even would reduce the max boost limitation but I'm not sure about the fueling side maximum hp flow (limit). I remember Jordan @ RK tunes telling me there's not much room left for fueling over 20 psi intake pressure. It's really a nice car now and it has all the power you would need for day to day driving. If you want to mod it to over 22-23 psi and get to the limit of the turbos why not do it properly and get an m5? The suspension is not really setup for this and you can feel it, the transmission might not be happy with all that power and the cooling system is definitely undersized for this kind of power increase. I wouldn't go over 600 hp on this car because I think it transforms into something that is no longer pleasurable.

Yes, DME Tuning out of NJ. Mo was able to do a remote tune tune since I am in Texas. Best logged times so far:

Wish I knew when BM3 is coming out for the M550. Heard it was suppose to be late May, now it's pretty much late June and still haven't heard anything :

so just to compare, 60-130 for am M850i is 10.9 seconds.

So looks like the M550i with the new N63Tu3 will be a bit slower than a flashed N63tu2 M550i.
