Nice! Will be there in no time.

My tracker still shows dispatched but my CA says it's at the port waiting to clear. Not sure how long it's been there but I hope it's been a while. 😬

Sweet baby Jesus -- my car now shows in Transit a month and a few days after production finished. I am on on a vessel from Höegh Autoliners called the TRAVELLER. Looks like it left Bremerhaven on December 12 and is schedule to arrive in Baltimore on December 30. I am definitely looking at a 2021 arrival but 2020 sucks anyway! I look at it as a positive. Just glad to see some real progress. Woohoo.

For future reference if anyone else ends up on Hoegh, you can check sailing schedule for their vessels here:

Oh, I forgot you were still waiting for yours on that long boat ride! Have you been tracking it? Any idea where it is and whether it's on schedule? I have a feeling our cars are going to be in Baltimore at the same time, at this point.

I'm 1,400nm from port, estimating 3 more days!

Hah yes I have been tracking it and been meaning to post an update. It got out of range of the standard AIS on December 23 with no updates since it's out of range. The regular AIS stuff I believe is land-based -- so once it's in the middle of the ocean dies out. So I looked around to see if there was a cheap/easy way to track it via Satellite AIS, which is not usually free. I found that Marine Traffic gives the sat option free for 7-days! I was not specifically looking to free but it's what I found on my first try.

I had to enter in my credit card but the boat is supposed to arrive in next 48 hours so I'll likely just cancel after. I have not compared any other sites really but marinetraffic.com looks pretty solid. It took me all of like 60 seconds to setup my "fleet" and add my boat. I flipped the SAT Flex radial button and it popped right up on the map a few moments later. Super easy to use. If I ever start a commercial shipping business -- I'll sign up for Martine Traffic. ;D

Here's what I got from a few minutes ago:

Awesome, I've heard good things. I've been using FleetMon, also via free trial. I'll need to cancel as I think it's actually a few hundred dollars per month once the trial expires.

With nothing to do but wait and watch, I have our ships racing each other to Baltimore in FleetMon.

Hahaha. Mine was just released to the vehicle transport company to today. Should be at the dealer tomorrow.

I'm a bag of anxiety waiting to finally see this thing.

In the home stretch! Not sure how much these things have to slow down as they get closer to the port and more narrow passage ways but I am guessing in next 2.5-3 hours this bad boy will be at the port.

It got to the port yesterday, so I'm hoping it's in queue to make it through the port soon! Is there any way to get an update at this point or does it just show up at the dealer one day?

You now need to work directly with your CA, they can check their system and give you an ETA. Mine told me on Monday that Saturday at latest was the ETA. Showed up at EOD Wednesday but were only 3-4 hours drive from the port. YMMV depending on distance from port and dealer volume this ship.

HELP!!!

Hi guys - I also recently placed an order for a 2021 M550i. I am starting to second guess my choice of wheel, so I was wondering if you could let me know which wheel you think would look better on an Alpine White M550 w/ Shadowline Package, the 846m or the 668m?

My preference would be a 20inch all black wheel, but they dont offer that, so I am trying to decide between these two. What do you think?!

It's really going to come down to personal opinion. I like 846ms, and that's what I went for on my order. I've heard people complain about softness on the 668s in 20", not sure if it's an issue for both styles.

I like the first ones. I think they’re more modern looking, which suits the LCI a bit better in my opinion.

The other ones are really nice wheels too, but I have also seen people on here complaining that they bend easily.

I'm with Jas here, though with two added points for you to think on

1.- you could just get either wheel set powder coated gloss black for not insane $ after you get the car. So, I'd consider that.

2.- the older cerium gray wheels have much less space taken up by spokes and lots of room between spokes, so they'll be infinitely easier to clean by hand and keep free of brake dust. Something my FiL taught me as we were car shopping once and he kept gravitating towards simpler wheel designs for that reason.

Thanks for the input! I was leaning towards 846m for similar reasons, I think its a more modern, cleaner look which fits the LCI. The 668m rims have been around for several years now.

I did also consider just powder coating the 846m wheels black, but for some reason they just don't look as good to me... I was playing around with photoshop. Do you guys agree that these dont look as good as the bi color version, or do you think black looks good?

I think you’re right. I’m not sure that design lends itself to being completely black.

I’m probably not the best person to ask though - I’m not a huge fan of black wheels.

I like the 846M wheels. I love that they are matte black

If I didnt get the 668M rims I think would have have been happy with the 846M rims too. The two tone does look cool on them. BMW has some great OEM options. The M8 wheels are crazy nice too. The E60 M5 rims were some of my favorite.

With that said I don't particularly want all black rims either but I also feel like they don't photograph well. I rarely see a pic where I like black rims on a car. However in person I think they can look wonderful.

Waiting for my CA to give me an update on where my car is at now. However, I logged into the My Garage website for the first time in a while. I noticed my car is back a step and now says it's at the Port. Which is technically .. I hope.. true if they mean Baltimore and not Bremerhaven.

Has anyone looked at the My Garage page? Does it reset to at the port again once it gets to the destination port or is the page just up to shenanigans?
