BMW display key
Can you change the car that show in the display yourself in anyway? Or does one have to conntact BMW for that?
I have a generic 5serie sedan in my display right now, silver. I have a touring, bernina grey. Is there any options, or is it just genric car that the key can show? Can you do any custom coding to the display key at all? |

Not seen any reference to that. Interesting as I have a bluestone saloon so for me it matched! Sounds like everyone gets that by default anyway.
Not sure if the software on the key is stored on writeable memeory or whether it's read only memory. From a technical interest if this is made by an OEM other than bmw it might be possible to fine out. Bottom line I think you're stuck with this |

I've coded it in my car, but after that key must be connected on a key stand. So coding it in car didn't change anything

That was about time. I get a grey G31 in the iDrive display, a black G30 in the instrument cluster and a white G30 in the HUD (adaptive cruise) - and the car is a black G31

My car is black as well, so I don't know if that's a colour thing - but i want to say that in idrive 6, the grey in idrive and black in the instrument cluster is a generic thing. |

so today i got to test the HUD without sunglasses - yes, it shows as grey in the HUD.
as an aside, in the connected drive app, the correct colour of the car and even the wheels (as originally ordered) are shown - compared it with a friend's so it's not me high on paint fumes |

Both of my cars shows correct (color/wheels/trim/tinted windows/etc) in the Connected Drive app as well, itīs only in the HUD/iDrive/instrument itīs generic, so as mentioned, it must be a new thing in ID7

My 2017 shows correct color and model in Cluster/HUD/iDrive screens :/ My car is Silverstone Gray. But since I don't have ACC car image only shows when a door is opened in cluster and in HUD, but they are in correct color & model car.
On the smart key it shows a grey car but not in M package so it's not correct. mrgicm can you please DM me how to change the BMW text on the display key with M logo? I live in Turkey and I'll do it on my car only so there is no competition here
