Guibo Replacement
Informational post. I just had my 2018 M550i in for service and one of the services they recommended was to replace the Guibo which is a part very similar to the rag joint used in steering linkage in older vehicles. It sits between the driveshaft and rear end.
The vehicle inspection sent to me clearly showed the original factory guibo had tears indicating it needed to be replaced. I don't drive the car hard at all and it only has 47k miles on it. I have a Platinum Extended Warranty and this part is not covered. Replacement by the dealer was $1195. |
