Full Adaptive ICON LED lights decoded for the US?

So I just finished doing European Delivery, still here in Munich as I type this, and the guy that delivered my car and explained everything on the car says that, the Icon lights for the US were decoded because of some old law, so we do not get the full function and the tunnel effect of the European version. Which really sucks in my opinion. But anyway is anyone planning on deciding the decode lol? Apparently it can be done somehow.

I code all my own cars and can do any Fxx-/Ixx-/Gxx-series BMW.

By Decoding, I guess you guys are talking about Anti-Glare High Beam feature? I recall you said that these feature was disabled at headlight module level so not do-able?

It is disabled on a software level for F010 with TMS/LHM.

It is not on FLE vehicles like G12/G30 or '17 F12.

FLE?

What does it mean, No chance of coding the full Anti-Glare feature?

All I want is the tunnel effect that European G30s have. The US spec LED Icon lights are nice as they are, but I really want the tunnel effect.

Your vehicle has 20-50+ Electronic Control Unit (ECU) modules. They each contain various coding parameters and control different aspects of the vehicle.

FLE is one such module, which you have two (driver/passenger) for exterior lighting.

I am saying the opposite; unlike F010's, you will be able to code full VLD & NGHB on G030's.

That's good to know, I did some coding on my current F10 as well, so I'll give it a try. Is it supposed to be relatively straightforward?

Is what relatively straightforward?

Coding in general, yes. Coding NGHG/VLD, no.

I was asking about NGHG/VLD. I did it on my F10 but it was still dazzling oncomers, so I disabled it. Are the steps procedure different on G30? Is it posted anywhere, so I can take a look?

The steps are not posted anywhere.

It is closer to the F015 or '17 F06/F12/F13 in procedure (all have FLE's). VO coding alone will not work. It must be followed by FDL coding (100+ changes) to convert to EU values.

Sounds like it is extremley difficult to code if FDL coding takes 100+ changes.

See F8x NGHB.

Difficult is a relative term.

It is not as simple as changing one parameter (eg: NGHB: nicht_aktiv --> aktiv), but still doable. And, there are tools to verify one did not miss one of the many needed modifications.

Plus, once you have changes figured out, you can create and use Launcher Cheat Codes to quickly apply said changes. Besides time, this way has the advantage of being able to re-apply changes if custom coding is erased when vehicle software is updated at dealership.

Correct. That was just to demonstrate that VO coding was not enough. Do not use those values.
