They just replaced mine under warranty and it now has a felt inlay. So take it to another dealer (it does not have to be the dealer you bought the car from). Give them no star and leave a bad review and you would be contacted later by their marketing dept for why the bad review

Fixed mine with a warranty claim.
The replacement part is now lined with felt-like material and the coins are no longer rattling in it. The latch seems to have been improved too! |

Mine refused to close after many attempts - having let the temper cooled down, I found that there was a coin in the bottom that was causing the problem. Moved it and it closed fine - I would totally empty the thing and see if then closes. I think it isn’t designed for storing small coins etc which is a bit odd !
