I bought directly from carplaymmb as well and opted to wait for the fix. I was told around February as an estimate. I emailed them at the end of Feb and still no response ! Bit worrying.

I ordered December 27th and I have not received anything and we are nearly in April. I will most likely contact my bank or PayPal and request a refund.

Mine has finally arrived and lets just say its a buggy mess, runs extremely slow and laggy and is very hit and miss if it will connect

Well crap I ordered one threw that Joyeauto probably the same one you received with the bmw colors on the unit I will see if mines is any better. Just kills me the car doesn't have Android Auto! Maybe I should have spent 20Gs more on car for it!! 😆

the units currently dont have android auto it will apparently come in a software update

I got an update. Basically the product is struggling with hotspot connections. I am being told that the device only works with a sim card and the HW is not able to work with a hotspot. This is being worked but no time table.

I requested and received a refund. It is silly to charge me and have my money since December for a product that isn't fully developed nor shipping. I will have to look for a difference product. I was dealing with CarPlay MMB.

i have a 2021 BMW X5 already with wireless CarPlay. i keep seeing compatible vehicles must have wired CarPlay to work. i just want to stream videos from existing streaming account(s) while on road trips instead of coding Video in Motion and having to download movies onto a USB stick

So it looks like both the MMB box and the Carluex box can't use a hotspot - maybe it's a BMW security feature, I don't know, but requiring a SIM to get Internet is a bit of a bummer for both boxes.

Not a show stopper, but for live data such as traffic/music streaming/video it's a bit of a bummer.

Would that stop the Android Auto from working through this box?

I don't think so, though I haven't tried...

Can I ask why you'd want Android Auto? Other than the messaging and communication aspect from your phone. The app experience is limited.
