Forgot to tell y’all… my dealer has a red XM on display. It had black trim instead of all the gold. It looks way better in person (seems to be a common theme with BMW these days). I like the overall shape of it.

They also had a really pretty M3 that might have been in Tanzanite.

Weird inventory there. They will have that stuff regularly on the showroom floor but the preowned inventory is very bland for the most part. Never seen an M550 or M5 there but I’ve seen Alpina B7, multiple M3’s, an M850, Z4 M40, and they do stock 7 series regularly. But the preowned inventory is mostly 4 cylinder sedans and X5’s.

I’ve never minded the look of the XM. It’s the wild ass colors and gold trim that aren’t my style. I’d like to drive one but I doubt that’s possible.

I drove by one local dealer (Westmont). BMW and MB were just bare, at least the outside lots. Maybe 5 new cars? One being an 8 series.

I've stopped hearing people complain about used car prices especially since Carvana took a tumble. Is inventory still crap?

Yes.

Around here, no one has anything in stock, new or used, except the Chrysler/Jeep dealer. Because, who wants a Chrysler or Jeep?

Yeah, yeah, "it's a Jeep thing" I get it, the wife had a Wrangler for a while, and I had to take it to a shop once for about a 20 minute drive (miserable!) and everyone waved at me. I finally convinced her to sell it because I honestly believe that it's just a death trap. No power, hideous handling, no side impact protection, abominable ride, twitching steering.

Other than that, it was awesome.

BMWCCA and the dealer I bought the X7 at is having an event tonight. I may check it out. See if I can get the girl to go. Thursday's is a mini date night, probably not her idea, but plenty of restaurants in the area. This is the closest dealer to me.

They have an XM they will demonstrate to us. Pretty sure it's going to be this one. Side note, if any of you aren't CCA members, you are missing out.

Looks the same as the XM at Roadshow in Memphis. They have a X5 M in red, a XM in red, and a X3 M in Brooklyn gray. All right out front. I didn’t take a picture of the X3 M but my wife loves Brooklyn gray. I’m more of a Dravit guy myself. Brooklyn is great, but in that neighborhood I think I prefer chalk white. Chalk white with a tartufo interior would be slick.

I think I’d rather drive the X5 M than the XM.

Have you guys seen the renderings of the LCI M3/4? It's got the same headlights as the LCI non-M 3/4 and the X5/6. Looks interesting.

It's on the front page of the Bimmerpost app.

What's I'm questioning is why BMW has two, new, different design languages for their lineup's headlights. You have the slitted headlights they took from Rols Royce and brought to the 7 and X7 and then you have the ones in the recent refreshed models. And even the next 5 has been rumored and rendered to have those same lights.

Why split the lineup like that?

That's what I like about the BMW EVs. MB seems to be the only one that didn't get the memo that'd it's ok to have the EV variant to look like the ICE version and not like a peep that was put in a microwave like a Tesla.

Even Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis EVs look better than MB's. The EQS is the worst offended. The GLB EV is OK-looking. Audi and Porsche do it well, too.

But I also don't mind the look of BMW's iX and XM. They're different but the design still has some definition.

Porsche did a good job with this. You cant tell they are PHEV or EV except for the lime green brakes which you can opt for black

Cause they know they fucked up with the anime meow meow headlights. Newer ones look better after second look. Someone commented “snake eyes” which is accurate.

When we picked up the X7 from having a tire replaced (ouch!) we had the kids. My wife says “Hey Trey, look at all these fancy cars!”

Without missing a beat the 6 year old points to two Mini Coopers and says “Those aren’t fancy, they look like they have eyeballs. Creepy.”

You know, he’s not wrong!
