New M550i owner
Hey folks, this is my first post and was looking around but didn't really find what i was looking for.
I was wondering what (if any) options could be enabled/turned on after the fact? I.E. the Parking Assist Package wasn't part of the car that we just purchased but wondering if its something that could be a dealer add-on? Does anyone have a list of cans/cants? id love to know what's available to do. My 550 is pretty close to base so any information about any of the available options are welcome. thanks Paul |

Well I guess potentially there may be some additions you can make from logging into your connected drive logon
One suchbthink I can think of is the speed camera alert (£25 per year in U.K. and I think it’s $25 in the US, not sure if present in any other markets) There may be other items in there potentially , login and have a look For the things like you were describing, I think you would need the appropriate hardware there to even contemplate adding (presumably by coding) If you have the hardware I would assume connected drive would offer the option but I suspect that’s not the case on the 550 |

Whatever would require hardware can't be turned on. So something like park assist which requires cameras and sensors can't just be turned on. BMW doesn't put the equipment in the car unless you opt in on it. However, the wiring will be there.
Download Bimmercode. There are lots of fun things you can enable, disable or customize. Congrats on the new car. Pics please!

Former Audi owner M550 gang! Congrats on the new ride.
Regarding post purchase turning on of the options, you might be able to add the missing hardware and processing modules and then code the car to get the features. But from what I've read in the past, it can end up turning into a rabbit hole regarding effort and cost. I looked at some folks adding the HUD and radar cruise controlling features to my A6 and ended up just opting to get my next car with those features. Need to dig through the forums and see if someone has gone down the rabbit hole in your particular upgrade. Nice move from the A4 to the M550, just wait till you try the Sport+ after the breakin period. Post pics! |

Looks like you have the floating center caps as well. Nice touch.
