A 347 with Tremec TKO-600 five speed and Moser 8.8 rear. The engine made 438hp and 415lb.ft. on the dyno. I'm in the process of adding an Inglese 8-stack EFI.

And it's a homebuilt Experimental, too. Run away!

It's actually well designed and engineered by professionals with a 50 year history or producing exceptional airplanes. The engine (Rotax 912ULS) also has a good track record over its 30+ year history. I hold the repairman certificate for it so I'm the one doing most of the maintenance and inspections, so I don't worry much about it.

Very nice power to weight ratio. It has to be a fun drive. I had a Fox Body mustang...had all kind of goodies over the years. My last combo was a stroked out 351w. Stroked to 427 ci. I'm not a fan of the TKO600...very notchy and was impossible to speed shift into 3rd. I checked the shifter lugs and input shaft end play....just never worked out well for me. I had the 8.8 rear w/ 31 spline axles...was indestructible. At one point I was pushing 700hp and 725lb/ft of torque through it with a sticky tire...never had an issue.

The top and body of your Boxster S are the same colors as mine. However, it appears that you have the glorious red interior while mine is just a boring black. Mine in currently in winter storage but should be on the road in the next month. By the look of the chargers, I'd guess you too are awaiting warmer weather.

Correct, the cars are in winterstorage at the moment. The M5 has actually been in storage the last three years but should get a service and be driven the oncoming summer I hope.

The carrera red leather is very nice. Would have wanted the red roof but didn't find one when looking for a manual transmission Boxster S three years ago.

I used to daily a C4 ZR-1 for about 6 years before I picked up the M550. Now it's my weekend/summer car.

C4 ZR-1s are a fantastic combo of tech (DOHC V8) and analog, old school car feel.

Nice to see a C4 ZR-1! I see you are in Chicago but don't recognize the car--are you in the FBI (Fast Boyz of Illinois) group? We try to meet from time to time at Shoeless Joes in Itasca. Do you post on the ZR-1 Net Registry? I love my Z06 but I do miss the ZR-1s!--Bob

Apologies in advance for a slight thread hijack. I got my '93 Quasar Blue in 1994 and in the late '90s Marc and I used it to experiment with some tuning, shorty headers, etc. before he formally opened his shop. Made about 450hp. Sold it in 2007. Got my Polo '95 #409 in 2012 and Marc did his 510 hp package for me as well, plus 4.10 gears and a short shifter, among other things. Great fun, easy to drive car. Sold it in 2016 to get the Z06. Love the 30-year-newer technology and the A8 automatic. I have lunch with Marc about once a month and whenever I bring it down he wants to drive it. But I miss the beautiful engines of the ZR-1s. The last beautiful engines that you want to look at before they were all covered with plastic. --Bob
