Probably a dumb question. I have seen 2022 M550i videos where the rear turn signals have a thin orange / amber line under the main light that blinks when turning. Mine on the other hand blinks the entire red tail light with no orange / amber to be seen.

Is that a US vs European thing or something else?

Yes, in the US, the entire red tail light flashes as well as the thin red line strip. In US, the line is red.

The Euro version tails has the thin line being amber color and only that flashes as the turn signal.

Which is all silly because 90% of the US doesn't use their turn signal and 90% don't pay attention to signals. The overlap of those that use them and also pay attention is probably 5%.

I disagree. I think only 50% don't use their turn signals but another 40% wait until they are already turning before turning it on!

I think the amber Euro strip looks cooler, but I am biased.

I've always preferred the amber.
I don't know why they went to all flashing red. It doesn't get my attention any faster - actually makes me have to think longer on it than the burst of amber in a sea of red
