Adding display key/remote start after purchase
Hey everyone, I searched extensively. I've seen people adding display key to their g30, but I haven't been able to find an answer on remote start. I'm in the process of buying the 2018 540D, but dealer won't add a display key saying its not possible. So my question is, if I get the display key added by another dealership or outside company, can I get remote start?
Remote start is a deal breaker for me and it appears I can't do it from the app. I don't care about self park, but remote start is key. |

Display key is not useful for remote start as it needs to be quite close to the car to start. It is intended for the park control and not for starting the car from a distance. I do not believe there is a BMW solution for remote start for G30 but there might be third party products. I am pretty sure there was an aftermarket unit for F10.
