Ordered 2023 BMW 530e

I recently ordered a 2023 BMW 530e. Here are the specs:
  • Skyscraper Gray Metallic
  • Cognac Sensatec Seats
  • Executive Package
  • Driving Assistance Pro Package
  • Heated Steering Wheel

I have the production number and I'm monitoring it on BMW's website. It just changed to scheduled for production. I'm slated for week 39, or the week of September 26, 2022.

I've been a Mercedes owner for the past 20 years, however I've grown sick of the interiors and I'm ready for a change. I'm not ready to go "all in" on electric vehicles, so I'm delighted BMW offers this model for those who want flexibility.

I look forward to posting pics in a couple of months once I pick it up from the dealer.

Lol… Really? On a factory ordered PHEV in 2922? My guess is at least 10%. Maybe even 12?

Production Begins!

Today my car's status changed to "Production Begins" and a VIN number replaced the order number! The salesperson told me I was slated for week 39, which isn't until the end of September, so I'm pretty excited that it seems to be starting early.

Mine is being built in Dingolfing, Germany. I verified this by checking the vin number that was issued for it.

Some are built in Austria by Styre Magna. I think there are long wheelbase ones that are built in China.

Congrats!

Received my '22 530e at the end of July.

I love it, it is quickly becoming my favorite car to date. My 13 mile (26 round trip) commute fits the car like a glove. All electric in traffic is great, and I can put it in sport/ICE for my weekend drives.

Long drives have been very comfortable, and a family of four fits well.

I'm definitely looking forward to it. I'm curious to know what kind of gas mileage you get with it? My typical driving is short distances day to day and longer trips on the weekend.

I go all electric for short drives. 100 mile round trip I will use a full charge and get around 40-45mpg on ICE.

To date the car shows high 50's mpg. I think this is an electric and gas combined figure. If I back into the ICE only mileage it's high 30's mileage on gas only.

I have 1900 miles on the car, 1050 have been all electric. Used about 20 gallons of gas so far.

Using the navigation for your trips is a must, the car saves the battery for areas where it thinks it makes sense.

It's perfect for my situation. 90-95% of the time I am just driving around town or doing my short commute.
