I picked up this probably two years ago, I think for 1/2 price... Gotta watch, Pegasus puts them on sale every now and again:

Also on the wiring thing... yup, if walls are open run Cat 6 or 5e if you're cheap *everywhere*.

Sitting is overrated.

Wouldnt the suede got look like very used style after a certain period, like some drivers had this onto the wheel?

Actually I love my noble chair with the advertising design

Someone please explain how a fake account digs up a five-year old thread and then responds to it.

Please. I’m genuinely curious. What’s the scam behind it?

What's even funnier is that I am currently in the market for a new office chair! I'll be checking out some of the suggestions in the thread.

There is only one answer: Herman Miller Aeron.

I have one at work, I have one in my home office, and I have one on my simrig. It's the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in and everything else i've tried pales in comparison.

I had one at work for a couple of years. They are pretty amazing. And pretty expensive. The Ikea chair mentioned here is 1/5 the cost -- and I doubt it is only 1/5 as comfortable!

When you sit in it for 8+ hours, 1/5th as comfortable is 1/5th more back pain, which is exponential!

The Herman Miller's are expensive, but they last forever and can be serviced. Offices liquidate these chairs all the time, so you can get a great deal on used ones for around $300-400 maybe even less depending on how many they are liquidating. Check your local craigslist.

True that.

There are (supposed) refurbished Aerons available through a variety of sellers on Amazon and elsewhere. The reviews vary wildly though so I'm hesistant; I'd like to lay eyes on it before plunking down the cash. I did check craigslist but would have to plunge into the depths of Gotham to find one; I'd pay a fair bit to avoid that.

I second the herman miller chairs. I use an aeron at work and an embody at home. Well worth the money.

In fact, if I couldn't find one 2nd hand, I'd pay retail.

I ordered an Aeron. "Open box" offer on Amazon, fingers crossed that it's not a PoS.

Work chair

I was hoping to get back into the office this 3rd quarter but with WFH possibly being a semi-permanent thing with my company I’m looking for a new chair. Don’t need or want excess features like USB ports, etc. cuz that just adds costs, just needs to be comfortable to sit in all day. Any recommendations?

All I can say is once you go mesh you ain't going back!

I have this one I believe (or something extremely close) and I love it! The price isn't too bad either.

Bought one for the office many years ago and then one for retirement. Most comfortable and supportive chair. The headrest is great when you lean back. Gel seat great and adjustable armrests very helpful. Exceptionally durable.
