G31 LCI 530e xdrive terrible mpg on empty battery

When I start the car cold with no battery and I put it on hybrid pro for best fuel consumption I get like 12 mpg consumption and I barely touch the pedal more or less coasting, has anyone had similar issues or know what the cause might be?

To rule out idrive being wrong, have you calculated mpg based upon brining tank, drive and brim again

Just wondering if idrive for whatever reason is reporting incorrectly. That does sound incredibly low unless you are literally driving 1 Mike when cold when it it won’t be great until it starts to warm up

So highway driving it is 23mpg with 90mph which seems very poor.

Yeh that doesn’t right. Can you provide a screenshot of the mpg over a trip, you know the screen where you reset the mgp and it shows mpg during the route, duration and distance.

I certainly got more than that in my previous 540

There is more to the story. As that doesn’t line up with my experience with my 530e. Excluding the model differences between the G30 and G31 and pre-LCI vs LCI of our model years.

For instance, here is a screenshot from my drive on Sunday night that started with a dead HV battery. It was done after midnight in 10-15F pretty much the whole way. I had every creature comfort on as well. Heated seat, steering wheel, HVAC set to 72F. It was heavily in Eco Pro as shown in the screenshot. It was done with me one the highway at 80MPH.

If you’re seeing fuel economy that low during highway cruising you are either driving with both feet or something is wrong like brake pad stuck to the rotor or something. You’d need constant acceleration to get 12MPG avg and I can’t mentally craft a scenario where that is possible.

Yeah Im getting close to 24mpg which is strange on highway cruising with 90, even though trunk was full and it’s a heavy g31 xdrive… But it just came out of the shop

I know this is a predominately US site so I use a converter to convert 9.5l/100km to 24mpg, also I convert 145km/h to 90mp/h.

Ok. Just had to ask!

Mmmmm yeh
So presumably the figures on the idrive display match these aswell. A screen shot of that would be great when you get a chance.
Any. Chance of changing unit’s to mpg (us or uk) for that display to make things a bit easier for us in mpg land?

But agree theee figures do sound very low . My 540 was better and even my 550 seems to be beating your figures aswell. Something is. It right here
